★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I travel throughout BC a lot and I'm happy to have found this place. I love finding a place in a small town that is NOT a franchise providing great food and service. This is one of those places. The waitress was pouring a beer as I walked by the bar, she was sure to make eye contact with me and say hello (knowing I probably wasn't a local). I made my way to the back and was happy to see a wicked view and 2 open tables right at the windows. I grabbed the far sw seat in the place and was immediately greeted by the waitress again with a smile. She took my drink order... bla bla bla... This place isn't about curb appeal. It's about the food, service and experience. Do yourself a favour and try it out. If you're down to earth, are thirsty and or hungry you'll be happy you did.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sat down with my brother and Niece, servers walked by and didn't ask us anything ? my brother went up and got me a beer before he left!! When a server came on, she was attentive!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I haven't stayed here but I've been inside a few times. You really have to know what you're getting into. The bar is an absolute hidden gem of Prince Rupert. It calls back to the glory days of fishing, and has a museum like quality. You will still see locals, fishermen and barflies in here, this is their place and you're just visiting. Take a look at the photos on the walls and you will see what I mean, they document the lives of North Coast fishermen and everything that goes with that sterotype. Hard working, hard living and hard drinking people have made this hotel and pub the way that it is now. It smells like cigarettes despite it being non-smoking for years, but that's just a clue to it's past. The stories that this building could tell is the stuff of legends. If you can't handle appreciating the history of this place and getting a glimpse of what built Prince Rupert then take your skinny jeans and man bun back to starbucks.
For the record I have seen the service staff be rude to customers, but only when it was well deserved. They won't take your sh*t, nor should they have to.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to the Oceanview Hotel for an evening meal on a Saturday night. We had to wait about twenty minutes because it was quite busy. That's fine we're never in a hurry. The food was excellent, the service was great, We liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Again I must say that you can not get a better bowl of homemade soup (seafood) a great recommendation from our server with a slice of garlic bread. Service second to none ... great homey feeling .. thanks Ocean view for one more great meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hallways smell like cigarettes and mothballs or something, the late night clerk and afternoon clerk, were a little rude, it wasn't our fault the late night clerk made a mistake, but they both need to learn how to talk to customers, and I am a ppl person I get along with everyone usually.. Their attitudes were stunk!! But the manager was very nice!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did not stay here but just visited the restaurant during our trip to Price Rupert in July 2019. It is located next to the waterfront and has a fantastic view from the bar, specially in the evenings. It has a nice setting and a heritage style building. Would like to stay here on our next visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The decor is not anything to write home about by any means, but the food was fabulous! Service was friendly and quick. There is a great view of the ocean on the bar side. Parking is not great as it's Street parking but there is sufficient room to hold quite a free vehicles.
