★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not waste your money. The school is a sham. They are stealing from you. Or Go somewhere else.
-The kit given would be a bare minimum at best. Youd have more product for yourself at home than what is given in this school and You end up having to buy 75% of the kit on top of what is given just to do the class. (Brushes, foundations etc.) Don't go here if your not white.
- Not only that but the product was dried out. It's like they got it from the clearance section at the dollar store despite being big brand name. (Not gonna bash the makeup as I've bought quality products from them just from sephora) -also even if you paid your entire tuition you spend weeks/month waiting for the product to arrive. Would be acceptable for the essentials class (first corse) but knowing that the entire class is continuing on to advance and not have there kits the first day /week of the second semester is extremely unprofessional and cuts into our learning time.( wouldn't get away with that at sait or any other institutions... which cost the same)
-also all those "extra" workshops. Airbrushing etc. Don't even get done during the school, I've been graduated a few months now and have to go back to do the workshop because of poor planning,
****Honestly buy Jemma Kidd Makeup Masterclass or borrow it from the library. That covers not only essentials class but their advanced class also.
Spend 500$ on your kit and your better set than if you were to attend this institution.
I just saved you 6months and 10 grand of student loans.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I started Niimd's Masters of Makeup Artistry program in July of 2012. Prior to choosing this program, I researched various schools within Alberta. The teachers and staff at Niimd provide outstanding instruction, demonstration and hands-on training to the highest standards. They encourage and engage students in various creative opportunities from photo shoots to fashion runway shows. The program and agency directors post job opportunities for all students, and the encouragement and support provided to their makeup students, artists and models is the best anywhere.
I highly recommend Niimd to anyone looking for the best training and opportunities in the makeup artistry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The main reason I chose NiiMD as the school I wanted to attend for my professional makeup education was because it was local in Calgary, AB, internationally accredited, located close to my current full time job, but most importantly it offered evening classes which worked with my schedule. I only planned to take the Essential Makeup class when I first enrolled, but once I was actually a student and met my instructors, I realized quickly that I wanted to do their Masters Makeup Artistry program. Their Instructors are so experienced, talented, and so helpful with their students. The practical makeup experience I received was fantastic and I was able to get a very good start to my professional portfolio as well. The networks and connections made through my time at NiiMD was the very best part; invaluable in my opinion! I can't speak for anyone else, but I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking to learn the art of makeup.
