I’d like to start off by saying I usually don’t post negative reviews but given this was my go to place for massages, and how upset my wife is that she got me a foot massage (that I didn't enjoy) as a gift, I feel compelled to leave a review. My most recent visit was on Feb 26th. I booked a 30 min foot massage using a gift card my wife got me for Xmas followed by a 45 min RMT deep tissue massage. The young woman that gave me the “foot massage” used absolutely no pressure. When I politely asked her to apply pressure (as it felt that she was just oiling my feet and nothing more), she said “ok” and then proceeded to massage me in the same manner with no effort and seemed almost annoyed I even made this request. To be honest, she didn’t even seem like she really wanted to be there .. Not sure if she was having a bad day or what but it honestly isn't my problem. NOVO isn't exactly cheap and a customer should receive better service. Also, It was only after the foot massage was finished and was waiting in the mens lounge area for my deep tissue massage that I noticed my 30 min foot massage only lasted 22 mins … she decided to end it 8 mins early … as annoyed as I was, I let it slide as the foot massage was terrible anyways. Now my 45 min deep tissue massage was anything but relaxing. They weren't even busy yet my RMT came and got me from the mens lounge 10 mins late … no apology. The RMT didn't have the massage bed nicely made and ready for me, (its as if the covers were just thrown on), I had to ask for the lights to be dimmed (odd, as you think setting a relaxing ambiance is standard) and she would not stop loudly talking to me the entire time despite my brief (but polite) one word responses. People come to get massages to relax, not to have conversation. You would expect an RMT to use that common sense as it can be awkward for a client to ask an RMT to stop talking to them … When I asked for more pressure she used her elbows in such a manner I have never felt before at any massage. She wasn't consistent in the way she massaged the left side of my back and the right side of my back. I get massages fairly often (given the nature of my job and that I can be reimbursed through my company benefits), and this massage left me in more pain and discomfort then when I came in. Overall, it definitely didn't feel like I was visiting a high end spa and left very disappointed.

What I love best about this spa is the super friendly service and serene atmosphere. The massage was really good the room amenities, including the rainforest cascade, steam, body jets and colour light therapy shower was excellent. The complimentary tea was a nice bonus as well.

This wast first time going to a spa, getting a facial and a massage. I recieved a day package as a gift that included a massage, a facial, a pedicure and manicure. It was a great experience! Everyone was SO friendly and educated. The massage was incredible, the therapist asked if I had any areas I would prefer her to pay more attention to and she informed me when completed what was wrong in those areas and how I could improve. The facial was very relaxing and all the products smelt amazing. She educated me on my skin concerns and what products I should remove or add into my skincare regime. I also got a pedicure and the woman educated me on how to keep my feet soft inbetween appointments. She was so friendly and informed me of all the products she was using. Since I get nail extensions, they allowed me to switch my manicure for a credit, which I used towards a skin product that was recommended to me. Due to Covid I wasn't able to eat the lunch they offered there but I brought it home (I chose the cobb salad) and it was delicious! Overall an amazing first experience and I will definitely be back! I've already told a few friends and we plan on booking together in the future!

Novo spa was absolute bliss. I went with a friend this past weekend and it was super relaxing. The front staff greeted us upon arrival and offered to hang up our coats. We booked an Eminence Organic Facial, Spa Manicure and Pedicure. During all treatments, my aesthetician kept me informed of the products and benefits for my skin. She also recommended products I should be using which I appreciated because I’m not knowledgeable in skin care routines. I cannot remember my aesthetician’s name but she just graduated from school and is from Iran. Please pass along the praise to her!! Spa was extremely clean. The moment our manicure was over, staff were cleaning and sanitizing the chairs, tub and surrounding area. Will definitely be returning. Thank you Novo Spa for a much needed relaxing day.

Pros: I had extremely pleasant and experienced MRT Nina as well as nail technician and a facial professional. Absolutely lovely ladies delivered great service. Huge con: very rude and unreasonable front desk. Condescending tone, sarcastic greeting. Girl in glasses and her supervisor, an older skinny brunette lady, truly need to learn how to treat their customers. I am conflicted as I’d like to get another facial but I really don’t want to face the front desk staff ever again. There are plenty of other spas including right next door with great specialists as well, so I’d rather not ruin my mood for the entire day next time and give my money to a more respectful and client oriented business instead. Just wanted the management to know they need to train their reception staff some basic customer service and tact. _______ Response to the management: First rule of customer service is that a Client is always right. As a fully vaccinated individual, I didn’t mention anything about the masks. You just did. But okay - wake up, it’s 3 days before the end of mandates. And even after - CMTO guidance says “patrons are EXPECTED to wear masks for massage therapy until April 27” - not REQUIRED. I came in for a nail service and a facial. Your staff cannot call customers “honey” and say they worked hard during the last 2 years whereas all spas were closed, or greet patrons with words “oh I see you came without a mask” instead of “hello how are you doing”. It doesn’t make sense to ask me to put on a mask AFTER A FACIAL when my face is still covered with product, just to make a payment through a plastic shield. You guys need to read your crowd - and not turn away a well paying customer who’s willing to return. Your booking system showed me a full day of availability for most services. You do need customers. So even though there was a conflict, the front desk didn’t turn me away - that’s the funny part. SpaMedica and the entire Yorkville area was more pleasant and accommodating.

I had a facial recently at Novo Spa with Shannon and loved it! She is extremely knowledgeable and professional. I have also had a facial in the past with Charlotte which was also amazing. The front desk girls are always so kind and welcoming:) Would definitely recommend for a relaxing day!

I recently had an excellent facial at Novo Spa. It was the first time since the pandemic and I was a little hesitant. All health and safety protocols were followed. From the moment I entered the spa, the front desk staff warmly greeted me. The esthetician was highly knowledgeable and recommended an amazing treat. It was so relaxing ! Can’t wait to return for my next treatment.

My partner and I visited the Novo Spa for a couples therapeutic massage. The staff are incredibly friendly and provide you with all the details you need to know for your visit to be smooth and relaxing. The ambiance is great. The tea is particularly good. Don’t forget to stop in the sauna during your visit too.
