Some history:
The cenotaph was unveiled on Armistice Day, November 11, 1922. It's granite came from Vancouver's very own North Shore mountains. The cenotaph was initially placed at the corner of McBride Boulevard and Columbia Street, and then moved closer to the Patullo Bridge, but is now located in here at City Hall, a bit shorter than it started.
