National Bank has the worst customer service EVER! they will not let me change my address online or on the phone they insist that i visit their branch in person, which is in another city of course. i will be switching banks shortly.

Very happy with the service offered to my husband and I as we plan for our our financial wellness. Ben Smit is very quick to respond with the information we need, he reduced our investment rates by quite a bit, and is overall highly recommended.

Absolutely disgraceful service. They continued to take money out of my bank account for almost a year after I cancelled my auto insurance policy (for the sole reason that they do not offer service in the province I moved to). I notified them of the overcharges by email and by phone, asked for them to call me back, asked for follow up, asked for confirmation of receipt of my emails - received absolutely no response to all requests. I was left to continue calling and following up with them at every turn. Was never offered even a simple apology for their mistake (I had in writing proof of my request to cancel 11 months prior) and on top of that - They had the audacity to remove a $250 cancellation fee from my reimbursement after stealing money from me for almost an entire year. This is their SCAM - Beware consumers! They ignore your cancellation requests and continue to take your money so they will have enough to cover a $250 cancellation fee that they will then take for themselves.

National Bank is BY FAR the WORST lender I've dealt with. I would never recommend them, or ever use them for financing again. It literally pains me every time I have to get some document because I know I'm going to be waiting on hold for at least 30-45 minutes. A simple document can't even be emailed, they need to MAIL it to me which takes "7-10 business days". I just got off a nearly TWO HOUR wait + phone call for them to tell me essentially there was nothing they could do for me at the moment. All I wanted was a document stating what my mortgage payments are. Any other lender I use would have been able to provide this instantly. If you have options, use literally ANYONE ELSE. They are simply painful to deal with. UPDATE: Thanks Jess-- Even though it's irrelevant now, I actually just received the document from National Bank in the mail they told me they'd send a week later... BUT-- the one simple thing I asked for and stressed after a TWO hour phone call that I needed (confirmation what my monthly payment amount on my mortgage is)-- WASN'T EVEN IN THE DOCUMENT. Ridiculous. The problem with National Bank isn't the attitude of the people.. in fact most of the employees have been quite nice and professional--it just seems they are incompetent.
