β β β β β Unfriendly owner, unclear price tags. Not much room to walk around. They charge an extra buck for the refrigerated section. I only went there because it was the only liquor store in the area.

β β β β β First visit was quick and easy! Howeverβ second visit, my partner (visiting from the States) was IDed and denied alcohol. They are 5 years over the drinking age, but the cashier was incredibly rude and disrespectful as if we were well underage. He didnβt ask anything about myself as I stood behind and if I had a valid piece of ID to complete the transaction. He said their ID was fake and pointed out basically anything that made the *American* ID different than the ones we have in BC. He did not seem used to foreign IDs but believed it was fake, and subsequently appeared insulted by someone thinking a fake ID would get past him. This resulted in him angrily telling us to leave and taking the drinks we were hoping to buy. We would not have been so upset by this had he not been so incredibly rude about it.

β β β β β Not sure why ppl are leaving reviews saying itβs overpriced, I bought a 26βr of Vodka for only $24.10 & the same one sells for a lot more everywhere else. It costs $32 at Cedar Cottage!! Not sure why since itβs also privately owned but wow, what a difference! Maybe other stuff is overpriced but the vodka certainly is not. The staff there are great, I was short a dollar since I only had cash & the guy that was working at that time covered it for me, & heβd never even met me before! It was around Xmas & Iβd had a hard week, it wasnβt the $1 that made my day, it was the generosity which I rarely see anymore. Anyways, my experience there is great & even tho I live far away I still make it a point to only shop there. Cheers! ?

β β β β β I love this place. Great selection, friendly service & prices were lower than other places. The place is a bit crowded & a bit like a maze to go through at first. It's really narrow & goes far back which isn't good because I was worried to knock over bottles while I'm going through the aisles! Overall it's a great place once you get used to the pathway in there lol

β β β β β The set up and merchandising of this store is a nightmare. I could barely find prices on anything in the fridges and I watched an employee just stock the fridge with new beer without rotating the product. Cool. Cold beer in the back, warm in the front? Thatβs a neat idea. I also paid 30% more for a 8 pack of Red Truck Lager than I do at BCL. I expect a mark up at a private store but 30%. People who say the prices here are good clearly havenβt been anywhere else. Staff were nice. That gets two stars. ??

β β β β β I'm over here from UK staying with my son & family who live just a few minutes away. I went to Mountainview as it's close by. I wasn't sure what to expect as some of the reviews on here were very negative. But my experience was good. Everything had prices on, contrary to what other reviews said. The staff were helpful and friendly, they explained how the store was laid out and checkout was friendly too. It's a small store so obviously they're limited as to selection, but they had plenty of choice nonetheless. Can't comment on price comparison as I'm not familiar with Canadian prices but I thought that what I bought was a good price compared to UK. I'll be going there again this afternoon .
UPDATE... First time I went - as above - I was buying wine, all wine was priced, as per my comment above. Just been again, this time for beer. Nearly all of the beer is NOT priced up. So, now I understand other people's comments. I don't like not knowing what the price is, and not knowing if I'm paying the same as the last guy. So, a big disappointment. Bought one of the few beers that was priced, which is good and a good price, but I think I'll be looking elsewhere if possible from now on. Have reduced my rating from 5 star to 3 star
