I recently completed my AST2 with Erik and Lorn. It was an incredibly well organized course, the information was incredibly well communicated and having our course split between 2 instructors allowed us to see 2 different perspectives on avalanche safety. Would recommend!

Very knowledgeable guides who shared lots of information to understand risk and safety in avalanche areas. First day was lots of sitting and listening (appreciated the videos and trip planning activity). Second day was mostly hiking up to Red Heather Hut area. The hands-on components of using our transceivers, probes, doing searches and seeing the snowpack were the most beneficial parts of the day alongside discussions with guides. Would have loved more time to practice these skills. A big thank you to Chloe and Lily for their patience in answering all our questions!

My husband and I took an Intro to Backcountry course with MSAA led by Guillaume and Maria last week. They were excellent. They held our hand thru all the basics of our gear, gave us so many tips and tricks, and provided a great overview of what we would learn in AST1. We got so much out of this course, we are really happy we took it before AST1. Guillaume did a great job managing the group dynamic and we had so much fun. We also took AST1 with MSAA taught by Rob. The in-class day with Rob was fantastic. He taught the course material thoroughly making sure concepts were understood but kept moving at an engaging pace. Very knowledgeable and could answer our many questions.

I booked the Via Ferrata tour at the Sea to Sky Gondola for my friend's stagette, and it was a HUGE success. Our group of 8 absolutely loved the experience, it was the highlight of our weekend. Our guides Byron and Nolan were a lot of fun, and made us comfortable and confident in the challenge, which I can say is not for the faint of heart!

Just completed the Intro to Backcountry. I had done the AST1 a few years ago and wanted a high-level refresher. This course really hit the spot and had an excellent balance of β€œclassroom” & getting out there to practice companion skills and skiing. Our course leaders, Megan and Andrew were awesome and really fed off each other in practical advice and their knowledge of mountains. Strongly recommended for those who are thinking of getting into backcountry - or, like me, wanting a refresher!

My husband and I booked the Via Ferrata and Tigger was our guide. The experience exceeded all of our expectations! We learned about the history of the area, as well as about the local flora and fauna. Tigger also knew all the good photo ops and made sure to snap some pictures of our climb. As avid indoor climbers, we were curious about outdoor climbing, so after this experience, we inquired about outdoor climbing and Tigger was able to arrange to take us on a single-pitch half-day climbing session at Smoke Bluffs. He was so patient and informative and ensured that we were completely safe and having fun. We highly recommend all of these climbing tours, no matter what your climbing ability/level is, you will not regret it!

Had a blast doing the AST 1 course with our amazing instructor Corey! He taught with professionalism, had a very friendly manner, and a wealth of expertise. I now have a great foundation for avalanche awareness & safety. Could not be happier with the course & the instructor- looking forward to doing my AST 2 with MSAA too!!

Overall was a great experience! Wore the wrong shoes the first day so we’re turned away (would have liked to have more of a guideline on this with pre departure information) and had to buy 2 extra gondola tickets making this a pretty expensive activity at the end of it all but was an absolute blast once we got on the mountain! Definitely a different experience in winter but our guide, Eric, was great. Was taking pictures of us the whole way, encouraging, and all around great attitude! We will definitely be trying more activities through MSA soon!
