The New Horizons for Seniors Program is a program offered by the Federal government dedicated to providing funding to a range of events that either benefit seniors or are directed by Seniors. New Horizons for Seniors has provided vital funding for numerous Capital projects the museum has undertaken over the years. The most recent project they contributed to was constructing  a raised floor over the deteriorating concrete in the basement. Improving the flooring in the basement was a necessary first step in constructing the new 1950s Exhibit.  Check out their website at : http://www.esdc.gc.ca/eng/seniors/funding//index.shtml

A surprising little find that brightened our day on an otherwise cold winter day. The staff gave us a great tour. The highlight for me was the working Edison Phonograph, complete with a collection of wax cylinder recordings. The tomato sauce and preserves cooked up in the kitchen are sold in the gift shop, and they were all delicious. If you're passing through the long stretch of road in Southern Saskatchewan, plan on a stop at the Morse Museum to stretch your legs and see something interesting.

Quite an interesting museum full of relics from the town and surrounding area. The staff person was happy to give us a tour and share stories about the town. A worthwhile stop.

Was drawn off the highway by a geocache and photo op with the giant cattails, and was pleasantly surprised to find this great museum! We walked through the front door to check out the gift shop, in an attempt to find local postcards, and were greeted by the aroma of fresh preserves being prepared! A quick poke around delivered beautiful displays of local artifacts in various settings, including an old schoolroom, fitting, as the building was the original school for the area. Within the building, a gallery featuring local and provincial exhibitions. Moving on to the gift shop, we got the postcards we were after, plus several wonderful pieces from Swift Current artist J.Robertson, for a steal of a deal - that painted saw blade is just perfect in my house! Wish we'd had time for tea in the Victorian Tea Room!
