I think this is bull, if my house is on fire I call the fire department and if I have a crime being committed against me I call the police, neither of these are charged directly to me they are spread over everyones taxes where everyone pays equally to have this but to get to the hospital because of a medical emergency I have to pay and if I don't pay it goes to a credit agency and it effecs my rate does that sound like a quality business to you ? Yes they save lives but they do it a a profit health care is paid through my taxes to the government of Canada and Saskatchewan I should have to pay again and again because I am in a crisis

While the EMT's who took me by ambulance from Moose Jaw to Regina were good at their jobs, sadly I can't say the same about the administrative office staff. I was inexperienced with the workings of the health system, so I was a little surprised to get a bill at all, seeing as I didn't choose to call an ambulance in the first place, the hospital made that choice for me. While recovering from open heart surgery and three days on a ventilator, still in hospital, I promptly received a $600+ bill in the mail for the ambulance I didn't call, which I mistakenly paid equally as promptly, by E-transfer, requesting a receipt be emailed back so I could be reimbursed promptly by my insurance company. It has been over 1 month since being admitted, yet I have not received a receipt either by email or in the post. Yes, I have checked spam, it did not get sent. Now I have to chase these people down in order to get a receipt to file a claim. I'll never make the mistake of paying this company promptly in the future, rather they can chase me for the money and see how they like it when the roles are reversed. After calling the office and being told the receipt was already sent in the mail, (it was supposed to be emailed) their claim is that it was lost by the post, which I find highly unlikely based on my direct and vast experience with our postal service and local post office. They now claim a receipt will be emailed today. While that would be impressive, considering their performance so far I remain doubtful. If I ever have to use this service again, I will wait to pay their bill in person so I can demand my receipt before I hand over the cash. While writing this, I just heard back from this company again, now they claim they have not been paid, so the claim of having already sent the receipt by mail was a blatant lie. When I pointed out that I have electronic proof of the payment being sent by E-transfer and deposited on their end, I was told that they would have to check with their accounts department to see if that was the case. Unacceptably horrible customer service thus far. I wish I had driven myself to Regina as the ride would have been smoother and cheaper!
