★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My son Ryan has had 7 incredible years of guitar with Barry, and is now studying jazz guitar at Vanier College. Ryan is a child who never enjoyed lessons or structure of any kind and has often had difficulty relating to others. With much patience and understanding, Barry was able to transcend all those barriers, relate to Ryan, help Ryan grow as a person and guitarist, and instill a lifelong love of music and guitar. Ryan and I will always remember the the ways Barry went out of his way: studying the requirements for Ryan's school auditions, putting together a band to feature Ryan's Dire Straights solo, and more. Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My little one, when he was still little (at 11 y.o.), started with Barry at the electric guitar. Beside being a music role model, Barry's top teaching quality (and he has many others) is to be able to take the kid, see right away what drives them, and to work with him to accomplish that the kid wants (and can do). My son's progression with him was just phenomenal, not only with the guitar, but with the love and knowledge of classic rock. Cheers & merci.

My son has been taking lessons and participating in band for almost 4 years. Under Barry's watch, I have watched his confidence grow exponentially along with his skill and love of music. And my boy plays a mean guitar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Barry has been our son's guitar teacher for 5 years. I often sit and listen to Barry give the lesson and admire his patient and caring manner. He always praises the technique that has been captured and in progress of being mastered. More impressively, he manages to be supportive and not become frustrated even when his student is having a challenge. He often will play along either a rhythm part, a harmony part or a solo once his student has mastered a song. That creates some very special ensemble music with his students. He has taken our little acoustic guitar playing boy and helped him to mature into an electric guitar playing soloist who is playing in one of Barry's student bands. The end-of-year student band concert that Barry puts on featuring all of his students in a real club is a treat we look forward to annually. "

As one of his first students, I saw his community of students grow over the years, as well as, his passion for teaching others how to play this amazing instrument. Not only has Barry taught me so much about music, but he also makes the time to bring students together in bands so that they can explore new music styles and make friends along the way. He is a calm and patient teacher who makes his lessons fun, informative and productive all at the same time. Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Barry Goodz has been teaching my son the guitar for over year. My son started guitar lessons at his school and his progress was limited. Once we switched the lessons to Barry not only did we see rapid improvement in his playing, we also saw a shift in his enthusiasm towards the guitar and music in general. With the onset of COVID, Barry didn’t skip a beat, quickly pivoting to online lessons. We saw no drop in enthusiasm nor progress. I would highly recommend Barry to anyone looking to learn or improve their guitar skills.
