Here is background to my story:
Moved from out of town in to Montgomery neighborhood and enrolled 3 of my older children this year in the Montgomery School.
My oldest child is in grade 3 followed by grade 1 and KG.
Words of Grade 3 teacher to first child, "I was not happy that I was getting another student."
A statement that tells me as a parent that teacher is over whelmed with work load. Sounded over worked & finding short cuts to work.
Remind you teaching is just not any type of work, it is a role model figure, someone who is responsible of developing future citizens of Canada.
Secondly issue was bullying>
From playground to class room.
My 6 year experience two other students in kindergarten class of his tied him up with skipping ropes.
When a concerned parent ask where was teacher?
Answer: "Oh she was busy with another student and it was play time"
There again, over work.
But what if something big would have happened?
Who would have been responsible? School? Parents? Authorities?
As a parent, safety first for us and hence decided to pull them out of Montgomery School.
Yes, we will sacrifice and invest 30 mins each way in driving, however we will be assured and at peace that our children are happy & safe at school.
A place they get treated as family and not picked or bullied or tied up.
