Beautiful place! Very easy to get a library card and the building is very nice. A lot of chill areas to read and study.

Superb library that offers so many services, resources, and free programming. Great building too with lots of places to sit and read, study, or relax (including outdoors too). Only downside is that I am not confident my bicycle would still be locked to the bike rack if I cycled to/from the library. Maybe? But I am not willing to take the chance. :(

Great library especially in the summer! The back outside green space is a lovely feature to have down town.

Had a great WPL employee - Phil - help me this morning. I called to ask about the History of Manitoba Radio display available to the end of May at the downtown library. He double-checked the details, taking the trouble to call me back with the info. Thank you so much, Phil! You are awesome ?

It's been a time and a half since I was last here but the library looks (and smells) the same. Some of the books on the shelves are a little older but it's always fun to see the more obscure manga they have, not to mention how much effort is put into each display!

Like that this library is close to my work and convenient to pick up books from. Staff are helpful and friendly. However doubt if I will be going to this library anymore since they decided to open it up as retreat called Community Connections for the homeless. This will make for a very unsafe experience for the most part. The homeless have already taken over the bus shacks of the downtown, now the library? City of Winnipeg give your head a shake about this venture, perhaps you should have offered up City Hall for this initiative and let your Councillors experience what it is like to share a space with the homeless.

Been a while, due to covid mostly. The library is open and staffed, covid conditions in place. You do not have to provide POV but masks and distancing are enforced. Study desks are spread out and the tables have had all but 1 chair removed to keep social distancing. There is even a note suggesting you keep your visit short. A bit of a pity, they have always had some interesting art and temporary exhibits. Today there is some first nations related exhibits and a display of musical instruments you can actually borrow !! I like to browse the shelves in the area of my interest. Today's visit was to get some beginning books on leather working and some art research (looking into Constable at the moment) and as usual the library provided what I wanted. Getting there is usually easy. It is on the Graham transit corridor so lots of busses stop almost at the front door. I used to make a half day event to visit but there is a derth of places to get a cuppa and a bun right around the building and walking about right now is a pain due to construction and slush/ice. The coffee shop that was in the foyer is gone and some sort of new facility is going in, but it looks a long way from ready. I meant to check into the maker facilities but forgot to. If I get a chance I'll report on that separately.
