The midwives in lindsay are all wonderful! I was very pleased with the care they gave me through my pregnancy and 6 weeks post-partum. Being my first pregnancy it was great to have extra time in appointments to have all my questions answered, and not ever feel rushed. they explained things to me fully and allowed me to make my own (informed) choices about my care. Someone was with me through my entire labour, and it was so nice to have home visits for the first week so I didn’t have to get myself and newborn out the door and was able to rest. My team supported me through my breast feeding difficulties and even lent me their breast pump until I was able to get one of my own! Overall, exceptional care! I did not hesitate to call them for care in my 2nd pregnancy! I highly reccomend midwives of lindsay and the lakes to anyone seeking prenatal care!

After having multiple issues with the midwives. I felt that my pre-natal care wasn't at the competency level it should be. I made the decision to switch to Dr. Bahtia. Today was my first appointment with her and it was the best appointment yet! I learned that at 20 weeks my due date was moved up, and where my placenta was located... plus a variety of other things I was never told by the mid-wives when I asked. Just wanted to share my experience, especially since other people's negative experiences with the mid-wives helped me make my decision to switch.

My experience with them wasn't great. I had a midwife I loved and then she randomly left the clinic. Then the next retired. So they were down to 1. When I brought up the topic of a birth plan I was brushed off and told we would discuss it later. I had a lot of anxiety about the upcoming birth and wanted my wishes set in stone. I was told there wasn’t much to add anyways, you want the epidural right?” No it was a lot more than that I was transferred at 37 weeks or so because of lack of staff. Imagine having care providers your whole pregnancy to be told they won’t be there for you? I ended up going with a family physician (who didn’t know a thing) because I was tired of being passed around as a patient. It resulted in a terrible traumatic birth that still leaves me scarred 10 months later. I am more upset looking back at how I was treated and realized it was not ok and maybe my birth trauma wouldn’t be a thing if I wasn’t passed on to someone useless. I know you can not control the amount of staff present but even another team of midwives made a comment that this clinic should shut down as they are not equipped for the amount of patients.
