I request a public apology for women arrested under Ontario's Female Refuges Act whereby women were illegally committed under the Act. Hundreds of women were charged with "Incorrigible" an offense not found in the Criminal code of Canada between 1919 and 1958.
I received an apology in 2002. Unfortunately, there has been no public apology and the women, if still alive, or relatives of the deceased are unaware of their innocence. It is essential that their names be published and their innocence established.
