The service here has changed a lot. I came with my wife a little over a week ago so she could pick up a few pieces for our trip to Cuba. While she looked around I noticed one of the workers completely distracted by her phone. My wife was carrying a few pieces and even reached for something up high near her and no assistance was given. Workers should be spending less time on their phones and more time helping customers. Management should have rules put in place about phone use. Poor lack of service are reasons why customers don't come back.

I went into this store looking for bridesmaids dresses. I was very impressed with the quality, prices ranges and variety! We ended up finding the perfect dress but the oakivlle store did not have all of the sizes we needed. Every staff member was so helpful in calling other stores and working with the online shop in order to get us the sizes by the date we needed. Jade was especially helpful! She stayed in contact with me the whole time giving us updates on what had arrived - this really helped with the stress that a wedding can bring ;). A big thank you to the entire staff of the Oakville store but an even bigger thank you to Jade!

I'm a big fan of Mendocino but I dislike the customer service in this branch. There were about 4 sales staff (minimum) and 3-4 customers only in the shop throughout my shopping experience, but I was not greeted, told about their promotions, or helped on the dressing room for the entire 45 minutes that I spent there. I saw them greet several customers and constantly check up on them in the fitting rooms while I was running around getting other sizes for myself. I made eye contact with the staff several times and smiled at them, but they all awkwardly glanced away. I genuinely felt like I was being discriminated against because I look "different", but I wasn't in the mood to make a big deal out of it. To be fair, the cashier was nice to me WHEN I made my purchases, which I don't believe counts at that point. I spent almost $200 at this store and only then was I deemed to be a human being worth being nice to. Feel free to check out this store because it's more spacious and upscale than the other branches, but fair warning, don't expect to be acknowledged if you're not the average white woman/man.

I have always loved this store and found the customer service outstanding. They would suggest items and bring them to me at the changeroom. I loved what they suggested and always made a point of popping in to support this store, whenever I was in the area. I was hoping the quarantine did not cause them to close down and was delighted to find them open the other day. So I started shopping, found some excellent items to try on. However, this was not allowed. How could this not be allowed? Obviously in a change room, we ARE social distancing. I was told I could return anything that doesn't fit in 15 days. Well I don't even know what size I am now. So I would be forced to buy 2 sizes of everything and return the size that doesn't fit. I don't live in Oakville so this would be very inconvenient. Had to leave. Other clothing stores do allow customers to try clothes on and i have since shopped at stores that permit me to try on my selection. I thought about this and felt that they are just being lazy because it IS possible to disinfect the bench and door handle in the change room. Secondly if one shopping trip requires 2 trips, and i was potentially unknowingly positive for Covid, that means I would have entered the store twice (once to purchase, and once to return). Perhaps stores should consider a UV sterilizer to clean tried on clothes??? No logic at all. Very disappointed.

Very poor service. Having read the reviews, I will agree that if you don't fit the stereotype patron, the service is demeaning and I left feeling like I was not worthy of shopping in this store. I shopped here just after Christmas, before covid hit. While I am a white lady, I guess my work boots and yellow vest (was on my way home from work at near by plant) was not to their liking and I was not given any help at all. I got one hello from 1 of 4 staff. I watched the service of other customers, which was fantastic, hoping I would receive the same, nope. Not even as other customers left and two employee's standing around, tidying etc. I still didn't receive any help with my shopping. I left without purchasing anything because of the way they made me feel. Now I hear they are closing. Good. Don't deserve to be open in a retail market where they pick and choose who gets the "treatment" while the rest of us get the cold shoulder.

Went in there today, only 1 staff greeted me (she's around mid 40s) and the other girls (prolly on their 20s) did not even asked me if I needed help or even greeted me! I was just waiting to be asked and I was also observing the quality of ther "customer service". They don't care at all unless you look elegant, rich, or fit to buy the prices of their clothing! I felt discriminated in this store so I literally walked away after 5 minutes of being there.

The quality has really gone downhill. Clothing feels and looks like it was made in a cheap fast fashion factory. Bought a top and it ripped after 2 wears

For the number of years I've been working in the area whenever I come to Mendocino I always come look for my girl Nancy. It's really rare to find and meet someone who's genuine, kind, honest and really cares about their customers needs. She's not pushy like other sales associates you see from other companies and regardless whether you buy something or not, she treats you like a human being and not like a dollar sign. I'll never forget the first time she sold me my first vibrant color sweater, ever since then I've been a loyal client and have been coming to see her since!! For anyone who shops here, go see Nancy she's great!!!
