About Medicentres Family Care Clinics

Over three decades ago, two Edmonton physicians had the vision to bring accessible health care to Albertans on a non-appointment, extended hour basis. Making that vision a reality, in 1979 they established Medicentres, which is now the largest group of medical clinics in Western Canada.

Medicentres continues to grow and evolve. We now have 30 walk-in clinics in 8 Canadian cities with over 300 employees including nurses, receptionists and associated health care personnel and almost 200 practicing physicians. Many of our walk-in clinics now include a variety of specialists who work in consult with our family physicians.

Our physicians care for patients in a traditional family practice through scheduled appointments, and on a walk in basis while also providing episodic care through our Fastrack Program. Designed to deal with minor injuries and medical issues, prescription refills and immunizations, the Fastrack Program provides you with the next available appointment.

Employers will find assistance for their workers through Occupational Injury Services, pre-employment physicals and drivers’ exams. We also provide Immigration physicals and a host of other uninsured services.

Each year, thousands of patients visit our clinics, and have come to depend on Medicentres to deliver quality health care for everyone.

I had a telehealth visit with Dr. Marechal. She was very polite and friendly, and she took my concerns seriously. It was easy to talk to her and she cared a lot about my issues. I really appreciate her!

Had regular checkup appointment for my 12 month old baby at 25th of January 2022 and faced with highly unprofessional and totaly incompetent male nurse. He was not aware how to measure baby's weight, asked me to weight my baby on her cloth and diaper on floor scales. When I said it's not correct for such a small baby, he 'kindly' agreed to measure her on baby scales. But the scales where located right above the hanging shelf. That was dangerous and could cause potential injuries for the baby in addition to the fact totaly impossible to measure baby's weight in such condition. After that he was trying to measure baby height on a tilted viewing chair for 5! times in three different rooms. The height he measured was less than they measured her 3 months ago! As the result of all of his unprofessional actions and full misunderstanding how to deal with small kids my baby was historically crying. She began to afraid of doctors after our first visit to this clinic at 6 months. She never afraid of doctors before our visit here! I'm STRONGLY recommend to the administration of this medical center to inspect it and make sure it is suitable and SAFE not only for adults but for small patients. As well as carry out an attestation across nurse medical stuff to confirm they are competent to work with babies.

Today I had my first experience of a walk - in clinic having recently moved to Alberta from Ontario. From reception to the nurse and caring attention from Dr. Popov then Michael in Rexall this exemplifies a level of outstanding care and service to my medical issues. Continue the Great work.

You never answer the phone. The nurses at the desk didn't take the appointment or loose it. When I asked for it. They make wait for hours. When I asked them what was going on, they told me that I had come without an appointment and I just should wait. But I saw how people who had arrived after me walking going inside. So I took it pretty personally. I kept waiting, but I didn't know it would be hours and I've been there for a while and I thought, "for sure it will be about 10 minutes more... But no, I wait for hours. And the nurses are super rude too. I had and deshabilite, so wait that much time for me, was like hell.

Their website lists minor surgical procedures they do. I have a doctor's requisition, and called to make an appointment. The receptionist had no idea what I was talking about. She said I could only come as a walk-in, the walk-in window is only two hours long, and the doctor would only do the procedure if he felt like it. I kept telling her I have a requisition already, and she kept saying the doctor might "not want to do it" after he examined me himself - how, when it involves getting an ultrasound from a radiologist? When someone has a requisition and needs help, the only thing left is to actually do the procedure, not start all over - need to either change their receptionist or what they "offer" on their website.

This medicentre is the worst - they NEVER answer your phone calls - literally never! I just called and had a man who didn't speak English answer and pretend to stop hearing me? Try to call back and it won't go through - so unprofessional! What even is the point of having these Doctors as your family doctor when they don't answer the phone?? I've been waiting over a year for a referral, still no answers. Can't even make an appointment to get birth control here!!! Very disappointed.

Started with a walk in with doctor Popov a few months back after a recommendation online and have loved the office, went to appointments monthly due to health reasons and it has always been a great experience. Main thing to keep in mind is wait times for walk ins, office is often very busy so if you do not book a appointment in advance you may be waiting for a few hours. Although this is not the fault of the office ? 9/10 would recommend ?οΈβ€βš§οΈ

Thanks so much to Sergey Popov and other medical staff for professionalism. My family and I attended this clinic as walk-in patients and we happy to get medical service there. Doctor always provides best treatment for us. Receptionists always responsible to give call back and always happy to help in any situations. Thanks.
