★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most of the teacher are good. However, when I was there, the school charged a lunch fee to all students just to eat lunch in the gym. Also, my gym class was wasted on walking the community and watching just dance videos as a means for teachers to fill time. The school lacked in school events, school spirit, and a good administration.
The school is also very poor and turned the school library into classrooms. The building is very old and dilapidated.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don’t recommend sending your child to this school. I only liked one teacher and I had her in Grade 1, she was the only teacher that truly believed in me. Teachers loved picking favourites and kind of left the other students behind. The principals are something else, I will never forget how they treated a situation I was involved in. The teachers overly scared students about high school, and in my opinion high school is WAY better than junior high.The teachers didn’t see potential in all their students and gave up on them at some points. For me, I was recommended by my teachers to take -3 and lower level courses for my main subjects. I ended in main stream classes in high school because I spoke up and I believed I could be apart of the main stream classes. I am now in Grade 11 and I am achieving marks I never achieved at McKernan.
