★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After moving to Pembroke I was recommended McDougall Insurance Brokerage to take over my existing policy. We dealt with Shane who recommended that we let him shop around for a better rate as he felt our current rates were too high. After 30 days of "shopping around" he finally found a policy/rate we we're pleased with. Because it had taken him so long to do this I was left with 1 week to cancel my current policy in order to move forward with the new policy Shane had drawn up. I cancelled my policy and waited for my appointment to sign all my new insurance papers. To my surprise I received a call from Shane the very last day of my existing policy before my cancellation became effective. He explained that there was an error on his system and that the quote he had drawn up was infact inaccurate and that he could not move forward with the quote he had provided. I was left with no insurance as I had already cancelled my current policy as instructed by him. I do NOT recommend this particular broker or this brokerage to anyone. Luckily I was able to retain my old policy after placing a complaint through RIBO as well as Insurance Brueau of Ontario in regards to this brokerage/broker.

So above is my original review
Now however I have completely changed my mind
We CANCELED our insurance as we found a better rate and a local broker
Our payment was STILL removed from our account FOUR days before Christmas (almost $300 here). Tara informed me that I should have known the payment was going to come out and put a stop payment on my account…….
We don’t have extra money to just waste and eventually wait for it to come back
So while we were customers AMAZING service. Cancel and you get treated like dirt
Glad we left
