★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you're in the Sarnia/Port Huron area check out Chicken in The Rough it's super yummy. Known for their fried chicken and confirmed by Sis who said, they make the Best fried chicken. I mean when someone who has a discerning palate tells me something is the best my ears perk up and my mind has one track. Come Hell or high water I will be eating in said establishment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Busy place,friendly staff and very accommodating. If you want really great fried chicken then you have to eat here. Good Lord it's good. They even tell you that it takes awhile but that's because they don't cook it till you order it. Juicy, just like home cooking. Yes it was worth every minute and every dime. Good work McCarthy's. See you again for sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We enjoyed are dinner. Staff very friendly and attentive. Even though there was only one server we didn't wait for anything. She kept apologizing but it wasn't necessary. Will definitely return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have frequented Chicken in the Rough for years with my family and it has always been amazing until tonight.?
I ordered take out and the girl was awesome on the phone taking my order but I did hear the cook in the background tell her that they are gonna run out of chicken.
I picked up my order and went home to eat to see that they replace the white meat rib piece (which happens to be my favourite piece as I am not a fan of dark meat) with a chicken leg!
The chicken was way over cooked and dry. Tasted like it was from this afternoon but reheated.
Needless to say, I was very underwhelmed and will not likely order take out from there again.
It saddens me to write this as I have always been a big fan…..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I ate in on a Friday night. Food and service were both good. Atmosphere less than ideal. 20+ men standing/drinking around the bar. Very noisy and raucous. I might do take out but will never eat in the restaurant again.
