★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly rated Chinese food restaurant. First time going and new to the area. Food was underwhelming. Food was cooked well however zero flavour. Chicken fried rice tasted like plain white rice. Ginger beef tasted chalky with no flavour. Sweet sour chicken balls were ok. Standard sauce you would find anywhere. Chicken chow mein had little flavour and oddly tasted better cold. Deep fried wontons had no flavour and turned to dust when touched. With such a high rating. I expected so much more.

My family and I have been supporting Mau Lam restaurant for many many years and have always had excellent service and the food (large portions as well for such a small price) is always delicious. Definitely worth the commute!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Know that you're getting smallish town chinese-canadian food and you won't be disappointed. The hot and sour soup, especially, was done well as many other places fail to get this dish right. A large, enjoyable order was filled promptly and accurately.

This was our first time eating here.
It's much like many Chinese restaurants in small town Alberta.
It is kind of nice in that they have many photos of their children and kids who have worked there. A very homey, warm place. There were two pieces of artwork, lacquer with mother of pearl, horses and one of the Great Wall, we wish we had then at home, just lovely.
Our server was friendly, and helpful.
We had both had Egg Rolls, my wife ordered the mild Ginger Chicken Hotpot ($15), I had the spicy Seafood Hotpot($18.)
Both meals were superb, perfect spiciness, lots of ginger chunks, delish!
I look forward returning in the future.
