Match Eatery & Public House - Point Edward

Ordered the "ULTIMATE CLUB" (asked for no sauce) was only served a sandwich with lettuce & FROZEN turkey lunch meat. I then complained and got a new sandwich with the correct toppings (lettuce, tomato, BACON) looked absolutely delicious... But yet again... Turkey was still frozen, I don't mean cold, I mean literal ice chips on the "Slow roasted turkey breast"(clearly the same thing I buy, from a package) my partner did the "happy hour" deals. His taco was 10/10 amazing but his burger was burnt but still eatable. As for the buffalo burger(pictured below) and cactus chips were terrible. The sandwich was completely burnt and cut apart and the chips came with absolutely no dip whatsoever. Highly disappointed for a "high class" restaurant. We didn't end up having to pay for our meals (just drinks, still $10 a drink). We did get a $50 gift card to give them a THIRD chance as both our previous were awful. When we'd order through skip during the pandemic it was delicious. I would honestly say mcdonalds is better than the last time we visited. I hope to be able to change this after using our gift card.

Match has one of the best locations in the Sarnia area, in terms of location it’s hard to beat! The prices are fair, but our service was sub-par. Our server never introduced herself to us, brought us the wrong food, and once our food finally arrived, there were no cutlery rolls on the table, and we had to ask for it. She also kept referring to me as “Sweet-heart”, which I didn’t like, or think was appropriate. Our 3 kids each got the chicken quesadilla with tater tots. What bad can you say about tater tots, they were just fine. The quesadillas on the other hand were made using heavily processed cheese, which we non of my kids ate. I ordered a Carlton of chocolate milk for my youngest son, and unfortunately gave him some before checking the expiry date (because why would you check the date in a restaurant). The milk had expired and was completely sour, so they graciously made him white milk with chocolate sauce mixed into it. My wife has the Ultimate Mac and Cheese, which was inedible. There used a processed cheese sauce of sorts lathered over macaroni. The pork was not even pulled properly, with huge chunks of meat laying about. That’s not the issue though, the pork had a fishy taste, making it awful! I had the BBQ chicken pizza and didn’t have a complaint about it. All in all, it was an extremely disappointing experience. We have dined at Match before, and loved the restaurant, but after this visit am not sure that we’ll go back again.

First time to Match. Loved it! Food, server(Alina) and atmosphere were amazing! What a view from the patio. We were treated to a gorgeous sunset. If ya like brussel sprouts try the OMG sprouts, wow! Well done Match

Today is April 15 2022 I had dinner at about 1/130 I ordered fish and chips It was horrible. The fries were dark brown in colour and hard , awful. The fish batter was wet and dripping grease. The coleslaw was runny with no flavor. I kid you not worst meal ever. I would of spoken up at the restaurant but did not want to attract attention to my company. Coleslaw with no flavor hmmm. Who s cooking back there. How old were the fries the cook decided to serve us Match needs to not let this cook continuing cooking. Someones gonna get sick I had to ask the waitress for clean glasses ours were dirty with lipstick still on the lip of the glass. I hope you take this seriously

Excellent food and atmosphere. Have an amazing chef. Alex and Crystal are top notch managers who are fantastic with engaging guests. Drinks are yummers.. Sam(antha) is one of the best servers i have ever had...down right spiferific! The patio! What a view...and a little cooler on those super hot days, heaters when it cools down.

Excellent food. Excellent views. Excellent service! Will visit again soon.

We had dinner at this restaurant in the Casino in mid November. The waitress Judy C. was very friendly, helpful and accommodating (although busy). We were very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! One of us had the rib dinner (although we both tasted it) and it was truly fall-off-the-bone and really tasty! I had the Cyprus Beet salad which was really quite tasty. The beer was cold but we were unfortunately there too early to catch the Leafs in action on the many large screen TV's throughout this restaurant. Will definitely go back if in the area again!

The food was good. The price is okay. The ambience is fine. My little disappointment today was due to my wife's birthday. I placed a reservation through the website, they asked what was the occasion, so I was expecting a little thing to show "you are special to us, and thank you for choosing us to celebrate your birthday". But it did not happen. They have absolutely no obligation though, but they were the ones to set the expectation. I didn't ask for anything. I would say that you should not ask what is the occasion if that doesn't make any difference in the experience the customers will have. I certainly recommend the place and the food.
