The Mary Brown’s Story
It was 1969. While the world watched the first man walk on the moon, we celebrated the first Guest walking through our doors in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador. Needless to say, it was a giant leap for chicken. Word quickly spread and stores opened across the province. It soon became the chicken of choice. Iconic even. It was time to, pardon the pun, spread our wings.
By 1972, the secret of Mary Brown’s tantalizing chicken was out. Two stores opened in Ontario that year in Oshawa and Mississauga. From there, growth expanded west to Alberta, back east to the Maritimes, out to the Prairies and more recently, all the way to British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.
Today there are almost 200 Mary Brown’s locations across Canada, and that number keeps climbing rapidly – coast-to-coast, in small towns and big cities – as more and more Canadians fall in love with our delicious food! Sit tight, we’ll be in your neighbourhood soon!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered from the app for a pick up and was charged for my order. When I got to the store I was informed by the employee that she had rejected my order because they had run out of that meal. When I asked her why I was still charged she said she thought I would get my money back in a day. The app needs some work. Like maybe updating when a location runs out of food?? Like maybe confirming the order BEFORE you charge a customer for it?? Anyone using the app - buyer beware!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chicken is outstanding and very well done. We are, for the most part, never disappointed and regularly order a few times per month.
However, their coleslaw has gotten much worse. At one time, it was very well made and delicious. For some time now, it has been so watered down, it is literally like thin soup with cabbage added. It is unpalatable. We never eat it, but occasionally still order it in hopes that they will stop adding any water to make it like it was.
ALL chicken pieces are tasty and delicious. However, I very highly suggest you do NOT order the dinners to save on the price of the terrible coleslaw. Sorry. Instead, just order the chicken and add the taters.
We have ordered dinners from two Mary Brown's now, and the coleslaw is equally terrible from each one. Perhaps this is now a franchise policy to heavily water it down to save money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff aren't particularly friendly. I always feel rushed when they take my order. But, they are fast at getting your food ready. The deep fried pickle chips are really good! I'm surprised they haven't topped a big Mary sandwich with them yet. The batter is so flavorful and crispy. The taters are really good too. The chicken itself is just OK, I find. Sometimes the chicken can be tuff. The spicy big Mary seems to be lacking toppings or something. All there is for toppings, is a bit of sauce and three pickles. No lettuce, no tomato, just sauce and pickles. For the price, its very underwhelming. Sometimes it can get pretty busy in there and its a small restaurant area for customers so you don't know who is waiting to order and who is waiting in line. There always seems to be parking though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered some chicken strips and popcorn chicken for my son and myself. Super tasty and huge portions. I was in the restaurant waiting for my order and noticed the staff constantly washing their hands as well as wearing gloves. Even took a napkin in hand to put over top of open box of fries as not to touch it when placing in the bag.
Absolutely awesome sight!!!!! Will be back.

I order their snack sandwiches and expected at almost 4 dollars it would be like others and basically be a half sized sandwich. 50% of something normal size. 4 dollars about half price. I grab it , I'm in a hurry. I leave and open it up and it's a burger for a 2 year old. If you take small to normal bites its 3... about 1/4 of anything concidered normal sized at less then double the cost...
Never again! Ridiculous!!!
