On top of their long-standing lackluster attitude and poor customer service skills, most of the employees don't wear masks or visors and they do not offer contactless payment like paypass. Five months into an international pandemic and I have to take their card terminal for the cashier to slide my card in and type my code. This is ridiculous! Clearly they can't be bothered to buy a new terminal to help keep everybody safe. This place used to be annoyingly subpar, and their (lack of) adoption of safety measures makes me consider them worst than that now.

Was a satisfied customer for +40 years, but not anymore. I Shop on Thursdays and would buy 1 whole chicken, but was repeatedly told they had none and to come back on another day. They bake bread in-store and scolded me when I bought 5 loaves at a time because it left none for their other customers. Then they wanted me to reserve the bread 1 day in advance, but when I did that, 1/2 the time they did not reserve it for me. Both the fresh meat and their in-house baked bread are not ready for sale until 11 am. They are just not ready to do business when the store opens at 8am. Whatever bread they baked if not sold by day's end, stays on the shelf the day after and they won't bake more until the old bread is sold out. It's our punishment! Recently bought their store brand "Compliments cookies" that carry a 100% money back satisfaction guarantee, that they will not honor. The mince beef was the best in town, very lean and fresh, better than any other butcher shop. But now, the meat is full of fat, easy to see the granules of fat in the mince beef, awful. Once bought a pizza and had to return because it was spoiled and well past the expiry date. Once picked up ready made dough that used to be sold in their refrigerator, but they had now placed it in a freezer with a sticker covering the best before date that had expired 5 months before. Wanted to buy d'Italiano commercial bread, but was told they only order 2 loaves for the whole store. The store is not well stocked. Maxi has lots for sale at $2.50 (or less) everyday and Tradition sells them for $3.60 per loaf, if you can find one. The store has few customers because the prices are extremely high, they are not polite, stock is missing, and they limit quantities on sales. A long time ago they had lots of customers, and now very few. They don't look after their customers. They lost lots of loyal customers and strangely don't seem to care. Shopping here I would have to pay a lot more and get nothing in return for my inconvenience. The staff are not polite enough, not helpful, and very cold. Can't remember ever seeing a smiling face. I certify that everything said in this review is true, because it actually happened to me.
