One of the worst service ever had. Requested a birth certificate for my daughter 4 months and 14 days ago. No sign of it yet, called twice and they can say is β€œit’s being processed”, that’s it. The email I got said it would take 6-8 weeks to be processed, google says it usually takes 10-12, but here I am halfway thought my 5th month of waiting. I checked all the other reviews you cannot find a review for 2 stars, all 1 star. What a circus

This is the most useless government office in all of Canada. I tried to be patient, but this has gone much too far and for way too long. If you need to get into contact with the Vital Statistics line, it reroutes you to Government Inquiries, of which the employees have absolutely no knowledge pertaining to vital records or supporting documentation for any application. If you request a call-back, you will never hear back. I promise you. I've attempted to open numerous inquiry tickets on behalf of my mother. We've left our phone numbers, emails -- everything you can imagine -- and not once in 5 months did we receive a phone call back despite multiple attempts and pleads. In fact, one of the associates working for Manitoba Government Inquiries insisted I reach out to them through email, since I β€œwould receive assistance much faster”. I received a response informing me to phone the hotline instead... the same number I originally called. These employees love running you in circles to avoid helping you out or doing their jobs, to the point where I firmly believe they're trained to treat your concerns like a joke. My mother applied for a name change back in late January. She spent weeks getting all of the required paperwork filled out and having her documents notarized by a lawyer. Vital Statistics is avoiding any form of communication, as they do not want to admit they lost her application package. What a waste of time, money, effort, and stress. I'm extremely tired and fed up with attempting to get into contact with these people. COVID isn't an excuse to be lazy or inoperable. These are important, private documents and applications that Manitobans are trusting this agency with, only for the employees to do whatever they please with them and probably end up in the trash or on a random's desk. I can’t imagine the mess and disorganization they have there. Truly, shame on this government office.

Applied for legal name change 1 year ago, have yet to even hear back if my documents ever arrived since they had to be mailed (office isn't open to public) nobody ever answers the phone. IF you are lucky enough to speak to someone they will only tell you that they will have someone call you back to discuss further, nobody ever calls back. Nobody emails back either. Absolute train wreck. Does anyone actually work there?

We've been waiting for over 3 months for marriage certificate (since early November). Re-applied again in mid January using rush service - nothing. Tried calling them multiple times, e-mails - nothing. At this point I'm contacting my local MLA, CTV Winnipeg, CBC because looks like nothing else works. Encouraging everyone below to do the same, this department needs some media attention

I have a birth certificate, but because they don’t laminate them anymore the date it was issued says 199? It is worn off. Called to see if they could tell me when it was issued they said I’d have to order a new one. Everything else is right except the missing number, as I’m trying to get a passport asap and not have to pay another fee for a birth certificate. Maybe if they’d laminate them like they used to I wouldn’t have this problem.

If I could give less then one star I would. They are absolutely a JOKE. My baby was born in September and I still have not received her birth certificate. Every time I call and ask for updates it’s the same thing and no one can give me an answer. I then did a rush service for a new one in February and still have not received anything. Every time I call it’s the same thing. I have a tripped book and it looks like I’m going to be missing out on that money because they can’t seem to actually do some work for once and get my babies birth certificate to me

I think that if you pay for rush, and you don't get it within 4 months you should get refunded. I have friends that got theirs within 3 months that didn't pay for a rush. Some that did and got them in 2 weeks. We've been waiting 5 months now almost. would be nice to escape this Manitoba winter! unless its a scam to keep our $ in Manitoba.. if so.. well played sir. If not.. hire a few more people.. Lots of people looking for employment. Put some of the money you get from "RUSH" certificates to good use.

On 03/24/22 I called Vital Statistics and very quickly found out what I needed to get my birth certificate. I paid for faster processing which is 3 days, with in a week a received the package in the mail by Fed Ex. I am not sure what people complain about or maybe I am a lucky one. Thank you Vital Statistics for quick processing.
