IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OUR INUIT COMMUNITY AND THOSE WHO WORK ALONGSIDE US

The safety and wellness of Manitoba Inuit Association (MIA) staff and Inuit community is paramount in the very dynamic COVID-19 pandemic. After much consideration with information from our Public Health officials provincially and nationally, MIA’s office and all programming is closed until further notice.

We are particularly sensitive to the needs of our Elders and the most vulnerable in our community. If you are requiring assistance from a food bank please contact Winnipeg Harvest directly as they too are experiencing challenges and may have reduced hours so please check their website www.winnipegharvest.org or call them at 204-982-3663 ahead of time.

Anyone displaying symptoms of having COVID-19, particularly those who have travelled internationally in the past 14 days, are asked to contact Health Links at 204-788-8200 or toll-free at 1-888-315-9257 for further information.

Individuals in Winnipeg directed by Health Links to be tested for COVID-19 will be asked to visit a community screening location. The community screening locations include:

• Access Winnipeg West, 280 Booth Drive
• Access Fort Garry 135 Plaza Drive
• Mount Carmel Clinic, 886 Main Street
• Access Transcona, 845 Regent Avenue West
