β β β β β Just WOW! First let me start out by letting you know my car is a 2003 Pontiac Vibe with over 300,000 KMs on it (I don't know how many exactly because the speedometer stopped at 299,999 a year ago). So when my alternator began to fail, spending $600 for a brand new one was not something I wanted to do. Since I use my car for work, I needed it back up and running PRONTO!!! The cheapest workaround I could find was purchasing the alternator for $232 and then somehow convincing a friend of mine to install it for a pizza. (Clearly have awesome friends!!!).
But then I was referred to these guys, Mac's Auto Electric, and informed that they specialize in rebuilds of starters and alternators...not only that, they've been around since 1993 (not something you see very often anymore).
To make a detailed story short, I called, drove there, had a rebuilt alternator INSTALLED (which includes a 1 year warranty), paid and drove all the way back home in UNDER 2 HOURS!!! THE BEST PART....ALL OF IT $270. Other places were quoting a couple days or even a week plus and around $600.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, "Thanks Mac's Auto Electric...you have forever earned my referrals."

β β β β β Both the mechanics working here are super helpful, reasonable and knowleged. Most places will try to jump to charge you whatever they can, here i was treated very well and they kept me constantly up to date with what the costs were and the issues. Also VERY reasonable pricing for alternator work. I will for sure be taking my car back here.

β β β β β I was told they had an alternator in stock, on arrive they didn't have it. That was not the end of the world, Tony asked if I had time and they'd rebuild mine. So that what they did. I replace the alternator and it would not charge. I had a mechanic trouble shoot and he determined it to be a faulty alternator. I purchased one directly from dodge because I didn't have time to drive back and forth to the city to chase alternator issues. When I did return the alternator, I was accused of damaging the alternator and wouldn't be receiving a full refund. If possible save your time and money and find someone with some Integrity to deal with. Things happen and I wasn't angry they provide a faulty product. Some accountability and customer service would have gone along way.

β β β β β Absolutely incredible service. It seems to me they specialize in alternators end electrical, but that shouldn't overshadow the fact that they are provide an unparalleled customer experience in general with ample automobile and mechanical knowledge all around. I brought my car here once, years ago, expecting to have to buy a new alternator, but he spent the time required to locate a blown fuse under my hood and it fixed the issue for $18! I've called for advice super intermittently over the years since, and he always takes the time to talk me through diagnosing my car issues myself where possible. I recommend them 100%, for any car servicing you may need.

Friendly service and telling the truth straight out which is very important to me. Good balance between making money and helping people. Thumbs up gentlemen!
