★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The cabin, built around 1820, was originally located in the village of Vernorville at Trafalgar and Upper Middle Streets.
According to Chris Mark, the town's parks and open space director, when the area was developed in 1973, the cabin was saved.
It was moved and relocated to Shipyard Park near Oakville Harbor.
Although it now stands quietly by the harbor, it has become an excellent place for fieldwork, providing a glimpse into the lives of the people at the time of settlement.
