Busy hiking trail in the summer. Great experience for everyone to see some beautiful scenery and enjoy the outdoors. Parking can be an issue so arrive early. There is a second parking lot 100 meters down the road on the opposite side. Washrooms are available at the trailhead. First lake is only a quick walk if your time is limited. Took approximately 45 minutes to get to the second lake. Most of the hike is on a moderate incline and some stairs are involved. Bring good shoes for the hike and of course some water. Sorry Fido, no dogs are allowed on the trails. Lots of Park Rangers on site during our visit. Enjoy

Beautiful! Super easy to get to the lower lake. Only 15 mins. If you’re going there, might as well hike the whole thing. It is more worth the trip, but it is strenuous and not an easy hike.

Joffre Lake is gorgeous!!!! Since we had a lot of little kids and my parents in law.. we couldn't go any further to middle lake. But lower lake was gorgeous and some of the spots were crowded.

Gorgeous lower lake. Takes about 5 minutes to get to this first lake from the parking lot. Whole 8km trip took us about 3.5 hours with just under 3 hours walking total (including screenshots of Apple Watch stats) to all 3 lakes. The hike between the first and second lake is the hardest, with a steep incline and a lot of stairs. The hike between the second and third lake is quite steep but very short, maybe 10 minutes up. The first lake takes you 5 minutes to get to. Though it is free it is very busy here usually and you have to book your pass online in advance: also make sure to take a screenshot of your reservation as the internet connection up here basically doesn’t exist. There are multiple bathrooms along the trail, one at each lake, however, you might want to bring your own toilet paper and hand sanitizer as they are just outhouses. Decent amount of parking but when it’s busy you might be waiting for a spot. There are some birds that eat from your hand at the second lake, looks like they’ve gotten used to people feeding them. There is also a waterfall between the second and third lakes. There are also some wooden bear and owl sculptures along the trail if you keep an eye out!

End of April: currently the trails are buried under lots of snow, trails are icy, you’ll need crampons. Lake was frozen over and we were able to walk on it but be careful for areas of thin ice.

Amazing lakes, amazing hike and drive absolutely pays off Three beautiful special color lakes. Someone said it is the most visited trail in BC. I would say one of the most beautiful. The first lake (lower lake) is about 5 minutes walk. The middle one is about an hour and half hike. It is not very long but it is not easy either because of elevation. Trail is recently maintained and equipped with stairs. The third lake is about 2.5 - 3 hours hike. You will also visit a beautiful fall on the way. Highly recommended to get there as early as possible as it gets crowded in the afternoon.
