★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Outstanding selection of equipment and knowledgeable staff make this the place for all your musical instrument needs! We were in the area and decided to drop by to see what they had in-store for my daughter who wanted a clarinet. Scott was extremely helpful in finding us exactly what we wanted and giving us the confidence in making the right choice. My daughter couldn’t be happier with her new instrument and my home is filled again with music! Thanks to the friendly and helpful service offered. Even living 2 hours away, we will definitely be back for all our music needs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brought in an alto sax for maintenance. The person in the counter couldn't even explain what needs to be done. It seems they use an overpriced service provider that estimated cost to be $240. Same maintenance was done in the shortest time and most professional manner at Cosmo - for $88. This will be my last visit to this store.
I read the response to my review. I wrote that review after conveying the above to one of the associates in the store - he seemed completely disinterested and basically blew me off. You can see my name in the review, I'm sure you can find the details of the "excessive estimate" in your system.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the first time I rented from Long & McQuade. The rental process was straight forward. Find the instrument you want, tell the duration of rental, fill a form by providing an ID if renting for the first time and test and take the equipment. When returning you get a receipt and that's it. It was a hassle free experience.
Good store with a fair amount of variety in each section.
Compared to percussion felt the guitar section was more prominent and filled with more choices. They have a special humidity controlled room for acoustics guitar. Met Paul Atkinson who was the sales and rental associate for acoustic guitars. He spent a considerable amount of time explaining to me in finding the first guitar for me. Also explained the other costs associated with owning a guitar, especially a cover to preserve necessary humidity. Learnt things I didn't expect and already knew.
Since associates help out people who visit there, it might take a while to get someone to help you out.
Other than that it was a pleasant experience and a store with good choices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came to buy an elixir polyweb strings. Instead of just selling the more expensive strings to me, the store manager kindly walk me through what I need for my preferred play tone and needs. He also explained the difference between types of strings. Very satisfying and trustworthy place

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always a great experience with L&M. Just purchased the Alesis Strike Pro for my daughter's 12th birthday. Everyone is very knowledgeable. They also allow you to try out their instruments so that you can make a well informed and test driven decision before purchasing; unlike some places on Queen Street.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My experience from this store was not good. I specifically came from Windsor to the store. I emailed in advance just because I wanted one specific piece of Octopad and they said it is available and they gave me the serial number as well but when I reach at the store and they gave me the Octopad, but it was not working. The sound quality of the was very bad I was very disappointed. The staff was very nice humble but they couldn’t help me. I drove all the way from Windsor to Steele just because I wanted this piece but you know I wasted my trip. They could have told me in advance that it’s not working.
