Needs to learn accountability. Hired Lockhart to install a generac generator as the owner norm said he had installed many of them. My expectation of a installation is that when done it works no issue. During the install it would not run on propane. It would on natural gas however we use propane. Norm called a so called knowledgble person who told him just leave it on natural gas. The motor kicked out error codes regarding to high of revolutions. Norm said it was install and the unit must be faulty. Told me to read the manual and call generac. I asked if you were going test when the hydro was turned back on. He said no it will work and we are not waiting for hydro. The next day after hydro was on. The unit still had the error code. I called norm and he said contact a service provider. So I did. They asked who installed it because of the route cause of the issues. 1 major wire not plugged in and after being plugged in the generator ran no issue on propane at the proper revolutions. Norm said it must have come disconnected from the factory. Bottom line is he was hired to install and instead immediately began to blame the unit rather than take accountability on resolving the issue. Another problem which was blowing fuses at. The transfer switch was the wire norm installed was shorting out in the generator. The generac service provider said if the installer had taken the time to test the unit fully he would have found this issue. Another issue found was the spare cable from for the battery warmer was placed inside a section of the generator out of the way. Of course this area was the intake fan and guess what. Shorted out blew fuses in the transfer switch and the unit would not switch back to hydro when running. Of course no accountability from Lockhart but he was sure quick to send an invoice for the install. My lessons learned. 1 only hire a person qualified to do the install and certified on the product. 2. Hold back a portion of the payment until the unit was fully tested properly. 3. Never hire Lockhart electrical. 4. Ensure the person you hire knows what your expectation of installed means. Ie fully tested and working with no issues. I asked norm to pay the invoice from the service provider out of port carling and of course you can guess the response.
