I really like this beach because it has a large area that is sandy. There are tree logs laying down on the sand and people take those first. The sea tide is very low. You can walk about 30 meters in and the water is still knee high which is awesome in case you have little kids. However once you get closer to the water the sand disappear and it becomes mud and it has a slimy feeling ?. The are nice bathrooms close by and a concession where you can buy snacks ? if you arrive early you can find free parking but you will have to walk s few block. Otherwise there is paid parking next to the beach but in the afternoon is often full.

Was looking for something to do with my 3 sons. Decided to come down to the beach along with packing a picnic lunch hang out and watch the waves. It was still early in the spring and there weren't any people really on the beach today. It was also a little bit Gray but not raining which was great for Vancouver. There's a Little Rock outcropping that we like to sit next to and position some taller rock targets for us to throw pebbles at. The water was cold but we still stuck our feet in. Digging holes in the sand of course is a popular pastime as is eating sandy picnic lunches. It's a great view of the city from this vantage point as well as looking over to the North Shore and out through the inlet. We feel really lucky too be living in a city that has access to such fantastic natural resources such as endless seawall and beaches and waterfront and magnificent views throughout. We love Vancouver!

Great place for quiet inner city beach time but we got our first parking ticket in Vancouver! The paid parking sign and the station are at the corner and yes somehow we missed that - ok $50 worth of photo shots you see here lol?

Nice spot near UBC, sand is nice and the views of the north shore are hard to beat! Early morning parking can be a challenge on some weekends as cars and coffee and other car clubs cab fill up the park lot.

Well this is embarrassing... Google has me at Locarno Beach. I just nipped the shoal near low tide in mid-sized boat. Hey! Not sure if ya'll know this, but if you could time when the tide is coming in, and go right out to the edge of the tall wooden navigation bouys, when it's a foot deep coming in, the crabs are there! They come in with the tide. Anyone can come out with a net and a bucket. ?

What a nice walk along the beach today. A bit cloudy but a warm breeze. It's been my first time back since covid lockdowns. The beach is so we'll maintained and safe with lifeguards. I think I'll stop coming back.
