A stone’s throw from Kits Beach, the Seawall and Burrard Street Bridge, this is where it all began for LOCAL Public Eatery. Inspired by the relaxed, Cali-Cool lifestyle & small beachtown vibes, we’ve taken cues to offer a year-round neighbourhood spot where you can comfortably eat, drink & hang out in the best company. We love seeing both new & familiar faces from those who live just around the corner, those who work down the street, to those who are simply in the area after shopping along West 4th or playing a game of pick up at the courts. We have 18 taps pouring local craft brews, the best sports fans in the house & a patio you’ll never want to leave. Our neighbours along Yew St are also rad too. Oh, & don’t forget to check out the view of the North Shore Mountains & English Bay. It’s as iconic as our El Caesar & Crispy Chicken Sandwich.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here for a couple burgers and left thoroughly satisfied! The patties were cooked just right and were full of flavour. Whatever sauces they came with were an incredible addition to the burger, I couldn’t stop saying mmmmmm. The fries were okay, but I wish they were fresh cut and not the frozen kind. Lots of outdoor seating on the patio. Servers were very pleasant.

If you sign a contract with delivery companies then you have to be friendly to those drivers and punctual.
Your customers who can’t make it up to your restaurant they send drivers instead because they love your and your service.
Let say that your organization and management is really poor, you can’t make someone to be waiting for the customer’s food for roughly half an hour up to 40 min

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This pub is very cool. The decor is casual and comfortable. Unlike most pubs, kids are allowed. My daughter loved the relaxed, friendly vibe and I enjoyed a great mother-daughter evening! I would love to go back in nice weather and check out their cozy patio.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went there twice during my trip to "The Hat". Had the blackened chicken sandwich with some very tasty greens. I ordered the same items twice with a little bit different flavor eachtime, but still tasty. The servers are very friendly and the staff has great chemistry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were in Medicine Hat visiting family and they took us to The Local for lunch. Such a great vibe, awesome decor, and pleasant environment. Our server Alanna was friendly, prompt, and hospitable. I had the chicken sandwich and it was sooooo good. The dill slaw is such a good addition to the classic crispy chicken sandwich. Can't wait to pop in next time we are in town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great stop for some good grub. We had the sliders, eggs Benny and fish tacos. Portions were a good size; the eggs were cooked to perfection, the potatoes were also great and well seasoned. The coffee was the only disappointment. Worth the stop.
