Initially we were quite woefully unfamiliar with how the real estate world works, but Liza patiently and succinctly guided us step-by-step through the process so that there was never a time where we felt unsure or hesitant. There is certainly something to be said for really feeling as though you have someone on your side throughout what can be one of the most impactful and significant moments of one's life. Further to that, Liza has an extensive breadth of knowledge not just of real estate, but of all the secondary intricacies surrounding purchasing a home (operating with a lawyer, mortgage broker, utilities, etc.). Couple this with her willingness to answer any questions or concerns you have (and her remarkable availability), and we truly felt as though we had a homebuying 'jack of all trades' with us who could give informed guidance on just about any part of the process. Lastly, the human elements: trust, compassion, and authenticity. I was quite blown away by how much Liza advocated for us, whether in the negotiating process or her guidance on offers. A lesser realtor might very well try to seize the easiest opportunity to get clients into a house and move on, but this is certainly not the case with Liza - she made sure we were aware of the ins and outs of each house we viewed, and was thorough in ensuring everything was in line with our stated wants and needs as clients. This ultimately led to us finding a nicer *and* less expensive home than we were anticipating, and we gained someone who we would now consider a trusted friend and advisor in the field (who still, even a month after closing, remains in contact and open to answer the occasional question about home ownership). If you're looking for a realtor in the greater Ottawa area, my unequivocal recommendation goes to Liza Wilson.
