Liquor Way - Edmonton

Ace Liquor in jasper gate's has much friendlier staff, better prices and selection.

I walked in to the shop after having visited some time before to see what they had in stock, and was only a few feet into the shop when I was ordered "Don't move! What do you want?" I said I had come in to see if they had what I was looking for. He responded loudly, "tell me what you want, I will get it for you. Stay right there!". The man who had come in before me told the man at the cash register that he would not be coming in again, given that he had been seen how I had been given "(my) marching orders". Incredibly, I still bought a bag of ice, and asked the oaf why he had spoken to me like that. He said in effect that if I had been in before and had not bought anything that a subsequent visit made me "suspicious". East Indian staff playing extremely irritable, snobbish Caucasians. I would say it is the most degrading treatment I have ever had in many, many years, and I was casually but not inadequately dressed, so I did not merit that kind of imperative instructions. The staff show the grossest possible social retardation, jumped-up Dalits/chai-wallahs from some overpopulated, diseased tropical effluvium lagoon. Multicult has brought a lot of seedy and cheap shops to 149th Street, even with the Lynwood renovation (I have seen needles in a back alley behind houses on this street), the economic downturn shows here, there is a lot of theft from shops here, and store owners are often crass. But the liquor stores in Lynwood are better, offering some selection and more importantly, civility, but even there, customers are "variable" in a bad way. I had to give this place at least one star to post this, but it merits none whatsoever.

The staff were very rude and items were over priced; we realized that by going to another liquor store not far (Stony Plain Road), we would save $12 total on 3 items so we decided to leave. We left one item at the the till and the employee screamed at us and gave us the finger for not returning it to it's place..... My friend, went to the back to ask the owner if he allowed his employees to speak to potential customers this way; owner stated that he did not see what happened...Maybe he should be watching the cameras for the employees rather than literally leering over the shoulders of the few customers that are willing to put up with the prices....There is also 1 good review on here that is BY the staff.

Awesome liquor store! Lots of good selection and a good clean store. The staff are good people and are there doing there job good , being helpful when you need help. There are positive vibes when I walk in the store and there cooler is the best cooler I've seen in a liquor store. It is nice and cold keeping the liquor nice and cold. They store there ice in a clean , nice , cold freezer. They also have selection of sodas. This liquor store is lit up nice with bright lighting. Liquor way puts effort into there store. This liquor store is clean and hygienic , also keeping there products clean and hygienic. This liquor store has a unique one of a kind selection with lots of variety to choose from. Other liquor stores put no effort into there selection but Liquor way does! The location of this liquor store is convenient and a awesome liquor store to shop at. There products taste very good. They have nice bags that are made of thick material that you can put your purchased liquor in. Never had a problem with anything and always purchase my stuff happily. Always satisfied form selection to customer service , etc. The staff are good hearted people and they are nice when they know that you are a good person too. You can't be a douche and expect them to be nice back. Treat people the way you want to be treated back. When the staff know you are a good person it will be awesome to shop here every time. This liquor store has clean products that are trustworthy products. This liquor store has everything organized perfectly. Never had trouble finding anything. Other liquor stores I've been to are not as organized as liquor way. Once again amazing store with good people as staff and amazing selection. I will always be coming back as a regular customer. This is my favorite liquor store out of all the other ones!

I walked in and the store is clean and organized. It's a big store with lots of selection , so I looked and looked and then asked the worker where the wine was that I was looking for..... and the worker came and helped me find my wine that I was looking for. The price was actually way better than I saw at another store. The worker also gave me another really good wine choice that I had no idea about. I went home and tried it , and it was the best. That wine is my second best and favorite wine now. The staff are cautious and know there stuff..... no problems with coming here and it's way more convenient for me than if I went anywhere else. I'm a regular customer now at this store from now on defiantly.

Sold us expired Diet Coke once and they aren’t open til Midnight as advertised on Google. ?

Not impressed. My friend slipped and fell on the ice on their sidewalk. The bottle he bought was broken after his fall. Not only did they not care about how he was doing they wouldn't even give him a discount on another purchase.. $60 loss . .. . ...

This is a great little shop! I'm a big fan of craft beers, and they are always bringing in new stock and yummy things to try. They have a great selection. If they know you like something, they will make their best effort to get it in for you. I like the staff- always friendly and kind, and I've tried a lot of new things on their suggestion. I recommend this shop wholeheartedly.
