Summer of 2021 I was sent the information for the Mental Health Support Worker diploma (later upgraded it to include Harm Reduction). I was looking to make the next move in my life and I took it as a sign to pursue my education towards my goal career. I have now completed the classes, practicum and am about to graduate. The President & CEO, John Jackson, has done a phenomenal job at creating the classes, providing excellent instructors to teach, helping plan practicums and just keeping in touch with the students in general. I couldn't have picked a better learning experience for myself and believe that many others will excel with LINKS Institute. Not only have I gone back to school to receive a diploma but I gained lifelong friends and connections that I will keep with me throughout my future experiences. I recommend LINKS to anyone seeking a future in mental health & harm reduction!

My recent experience at LINKS Institute from August 2021 to March of this year has been an amazing educational experience for me. Throughout the entire 6 months, I have been fully supported from the President and CEO of LINKS-John, to all of the knowledgeable and educated instructors, who all truly care and want to see their students thrive. LINKS desire to want to see there students succeed has been such a motivator for me throughout my journey. The flexibility that they offer, coupled with the online ease of access with the virtual learning platform made my learning experience that much more pleasurable. The material that was taught for The Mental Health Support Worker and Harm Reduction Diploma is relevant and practical for anyone wanting to begin a career in the helping field, and all instructors ensured that their students understood what was being taught before moving forward. Mental Health awareness and understanding is becoming more prevalent in our communities, and these courses really touched on topics that affect the challenges that individuals face daily, whether it's stigma with substance use and abuse, stigma with mental illness, Social Determinants of Health, as well as Indigenous health and Healthcare in Canada to name a few. The content really is exceptional! The workload is fair, and again, flexibility was given if needed. Being able to put my education to use with a practicum before graduating is such a great experience, and the connections that were made with students, educators and my practicum placement has been so rewarding. I highly recommend LINKS Institute to any prospective students looking for a fulfilling career in the Mental Health and Wellness and Harm Reduction field.
