Being a Mason I was a bit disappointed in the repairs and renovations look like they were done by a 5 year old shame on historical people for letting that happen

The town of Pincher Creek is so lucky to have this historical building and the arts shop has absolutely lovely items for sale. It's too bad the building can't be brought back to it's former glory.

We had so much visiting! Really interesting building, full of work from incredibly talented local artists! We walked away with some really nice prints. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Beautiful heritage building. Gift shop of local artists offering a variety of creations. Also offer a variety of art classes for all ages. While you are there take a wander through this terrific old building, mostly filled with offices now but an opportunity to imagine what this building was like when it was a hospital.

This review is presented by Fred and Louise Vos....not Katherine. We went to the Lebel Mansion today and were disappointed we could only go into the gift shop and not experience the Mansion itself......contrary to what the website said. The mansion was not open to the public and there was no historic experience.......not worth going.

I came from California to visit friends in Calgary, and we stayed in Pincher Creek to visit Waterton Park. I decided to explore this neat little town on my own by foot. Saw the beautiful Lebel Mansion on a hill and wound up interviewing the staff about its history and present day function as an arts center. It was built in 1910 and was the residence of local businessman Timothee Lebel until 1924. The mansion was donated to the Roman Catholic Order Les Filles de Jesus for use as a hospital. In 1985 the town bought it, and it became the home of the Allied Arts Council. I was deeply impressed that many rural Canadian towns have arts and historical councils to amplify cultural pursuits. The facility has an art gallery, meeting room, studios, arts programs, and more. Personally, I think endeavors like this greatly enhance and brighten a local community.
