Having visited many jewelers in Montreal and looking into online retailers such as Blue Nile and James Allen I can say this place exceeded expectation in all categories.
To begin, as they are a family owned business, they don't work on commission so you never feel pushed into making a purchase.
Second they work hard to not only make sure you love your ring, but that you leave without overspending. We bought an exquisite engagement ring with a GIA grade of excellent for the price of $3000. A very similar ring at Birks was $12 000.
The quality of their jewelry is remarkable. I have a relative jeweler that works internationally including owning stores in Dubai, Iran, and Japan and I still decided to go with Laurentian Jewellers as they were offering better quality and prices.
Finally everyone working there goes above and beyond making sure you leave happy and satisfied. They genuinely love what they do and don't see you as another dollar sign. Thank you again to everyone who made our experience a memorable one. Thank you Mr. Barry and Michel.
