I booked months ahead. Rustic is good but as I approached my stay, the reviews indicated that there were issues with the cabins. A day before check-in, I got an email saying the on site restaurant was closed due to staff shortages.I cancelled the 1st night. They charged me $98, half. The next morning, I received an email telling me that the generator had just failed. They offered me a voucher for the Hot Springs and said I could stay at the Radium Park Lodge, their other hotel. Given it was closer to the Springs and restaurants, I agreed. I understand the tourism sector has suffered greatly due to Covid-19 but...were these cabins ready for guests?

We stayed here for 4 nights. The shower overflowed, was filled with mould/spiders and all of our heads hit the ceiling, we avoided using it again during our trip. No microwave/coffee maker/kettle/utensils/plates in our cabin so we just bought disposables. There’s no cell service within a 20ish min drive and there’s only wifi at the main building where you check in - good or bad depending on the vibe you’re looking for. They had a nice fire pit and a BBQ for communal use. Also had a mini fridge and a couple space heaters in our cabin which were nice given it gets pretty cold overnight in the summer. Restaurant there was closed so bought our own food in town. Overall we spent little time here because of our travelling to other places but in the future would prefer somewhere more central, since the 45min++ drive from anywhere we were coming from in the absolute dark was a bit daunting, and the lack of service etc. made it hard to get directions to where we were headed next or to keep in touch with our families.

Very poor service, pictures seems likes they are from different place. Heating doesn’t work. Floors are freezing cold in morning. Wld have been better off camping out than living in these cabins. Will recommend staying at storm mountain lodge and pay more. That what we had to do

I usually don’t write reviews. But I would not stay at Kootenay park lodge, We booked 2 cabins they gave us # 8 and #4 when we got there was definitely not what was advertised on the web, heater was on in the room, very bad propane smell for the first while, one of our children got sick right away from the smell plus disgusting, spider webs everywhere, one cabin could not lock the door, forsure not safe to stay there with children, we did not spend the night there we left shortly after we got there I am pretty sure if health inspector would show up they would shut the place down. Just my opinion

Stayed here 2 nights on Aug 2021. First night at cabin 1 and second night at cabin 12. It was quite different experience. If you like to stay rustic, old and historic, old cabins are perfect matches. Cabin 12 was newly built, so everything was nice and neat. All staffs are helpful and nice Best part of staying was BBQ at night. Little noisy of generator, but you can see the shooting stars.

The cabins are rustic and small, but enjoyable. There are definitely some basic maintenance issues that should be taken care of (a piece of wood laying on top of the fridge in the kitchen with nails sticking out of it). The location is beautiful, but ~45 minutes from any stores or restaurants. The restaurant was closed, and the available breakfast options that were promised were non-existent, aside from coffee. A poweraid from the cooler cost $4.80. The generator runs basically all of the time. It was ~30ft from our cabin and really ruins the ambiance. I understand if that is the power source, but it should be located somewhere much less disruptive.

We stopped here for a night and will definitely be back! The cabin was one of the renovated ones (11 and 12) and was quiet, comfortable and beautiful location. We walked the trail and it was gorgeous. We ate at the restaurant and they accommodated my food allergies and the food was delicious! The staff were all very friendly and new owners are doing an amazing job! We look forward to going back!

Please do not stay here!! We pre-booked 2 cabins based off of the photos on their website. When we got there, there was no heat in our cabin and it was freezing. The baseboard heater was directly behind the bed, so even if it did work, it is a huge fire hazard and totally unsafe. The door was damaged so much you couldn’t use the deadbolt to lock it. There were cords everywhere and the heater in the second bedroom was open. How is that safe for small children?? The bathroom was very slanted and so small that you got cobwebs in your hair. The cabin was literally full of cobwebs. And the shower was too small for my husband to even stand under. We would not stay there for our family’s safety and we did not get refunded at all. They told us to contact management (which we did) and they never responded. If you’re looking for a rustic experience this is not it. I can’t see how this cabin would pass any safety inspections. Also want to add that my sisters cabin had a propane leak that made her son instantly sick and they couldn’t stay there for their health and safety either and they did not get refunded either.
