Gorgeous well-curated shop with unique and tasteful baby and kids items. The staff were friendly and respectful of covid protocols, and adhered to capacity requirements.

Kokito is such a beautiful shop! A true gem in The County. The little shop with children's items is so special, and full of curated and thoughtful products for little ones. The main shop next door is gorgeous - tons of amazing gift options, natural products, locally-made goods, and some truly stunning splurge gifts that you'll just want to buy for yourself (HELLO BLANKETS!). These shops, and the sister shop, Keep in Picton, are not to be missed on your next visit to The County!

Great high quality products! You pay for what you get but it is worth it. Love that many, if not all products are local, or Canadian made. Customer service leaves a little to be desired, however. I thought shop owners would act more positively towards customers considering the economic hardship COVID has probably incurred, especially considering it is off-season as well. I felt at times my presence in the store was unwanted. But that aside, great store.

This shop is a real County treasure. Every single item is unique and beautiful - much of it made by hand in Canada and abroad. Just beautiful. Staff was well informed and friendly. What a find!

There is a beautiful selection of products in this store; many small brands I would’ve loved to support. However, my friend and I left without anything. I felt unsafe and uncomfortable in this store, having been met with an uninviting glare from the moment we walked in. It is so disappointing to be treated this way. Left feeling very disheartened.

This is a really nice shop with lots of beautiful and unique things that I look forward to visiting on our yearly visit to PEC…that is, until I remember how unfriendly the Owner is. On this particular gem of a visit, my husband walked in ahead of me and was looking off to the right, at something that had caught our eye in the window as we approached the store. As he was looking off to the side, he mistakenly walked past the hand sanitizer that was set up on the left, just inside the entrance. Before I could get his attention to let him know he missed it, the Owner barked, “Excuse me, did you not see the sanitizer sitting there?!?!?” in a loud condescending voice. There were other patrons in the store and they all turned and looked at us as we got scolded by the Owner. It was an honest oversight and instead of politely alerting POTENTIALLY PAYING customers to “please sanitize before entering” she scolded us as though we were 5 year olds who had just run through the store with Slickers ice cream all over our hands. We should have turned and walked out, memories of the Owner’s usual demeanor flooding back, but we proceeded to come in and look around. For those of you who haven’t visited the store the Owner sits behind the counter, doesn’t say hi to anyone who enters and proceeds to eye everyone up as though they are intruding in her personal space. You find yourself wondering why someone who has such obvious disdain for patrons, would have opened a shop in a relatively touristy area of Ontario. Granted, I am sure she has seen her fair share of attitude and rudeness from people who visit her shop but painting everyone with the same brush is not the way to keep your business thriving—something that must be increasingly difficult in these Pandemic times. I will admit, there were several items that I really would have liked to have purchased that day but being regarded as an intruder of personal space and scolded for an assumption that we weren’t going to sanitize our hands put a bad taste in my mouth. I am a Critical Care Healthcare worker who has seen this pandemic first hand—not from the comfort of my home—so I know the rules and I follow them always. What I do know is that respect and kindness go a long way in how you interact with people so instead of supporting someone who doesn’t see the value in those simple things, I made a mental note of the specific artist or vendor of the items that caught my eye and will be sure to support them directly. At least this time around the impression she once again left was a lasting one.

Truly beautiful store with a wonderful selection of items. As a local, this is my go-to store when wanting to find a high-quality, special, unique gift that is often made by a small Canadian producer (some of them from the County too). As a Black woman, I also appreciate that they carry items by producers of colour! Having read some of these reviews, I also have to say that I very, very much appreciate going to a store where they take covid protocols and our community's health seriously. Based on an interaction I saw there where the staff were given serious grief after informing someone coming in that they needed to wear a mask (legally required here), I suspect some of the reviewers just don't like being asked to do anything. No one "barked" or glared and the staff remained friendly, warm and welcoming. I can only imagine how challenging this has been over the past year and a half. Keep going Kokito!!! We love you

Pass. High prices. High attitude. Low dignity. My partner and I went in because the inventory looks really great. We ended up buying a cute book about Drag Queen lingo. We were happy to see a queer-friendly store in a small town, but then we interacted with the owner. She was really unfriendly, and barked at a couple of other customers. I wouldn't shop here again.
