KLEIN / HARRIS is an independent restaurant concept, inspired from the diverse bounty that Canada has to offer. Located in downtown Calgary on Stephen Avenue, KLEIN / HARRIS highlights the stories of passionate Canadian producers with the use of exceptional products and ingredients. Working with a long list of national heroes that make True North Cuisine possible, Executive Chef James Waters focuses on distinct coast-to-coast Canadiana dishes; a culinary journey that begins in the West to eventually end on the East Coast, highlighting ingredients like wild seasonal mushrooms from British Columbia and fresh notable oysters from The Maritimes.

Partner and cocktail curator Christina Mah offers an elevated libation program that features both tried and true Canadian creations like the Tiki Horse made with distilled Alberta Dark Horse Whiskey & B.C. Rootbeer Bittered Sling Extracts alongside venerable classics like The Vancouver circa 1950. Both partners take an honest and humble approach to what they do best, fuelled by a shared passion for what authentic Canadian ingredients and techniques have to offer.

R	Richard Chen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good food but the service is too slow and low efficiency. For example, I waited for over 10min to get the dessert menu. I ordered the doughnuts. After 10min the staff ask me “you ordered the doughnuts, right?” I said yes. 5 mins again, he tells me it is out of stock… Also, when I just came, I waited for 10min+ to get the water. The decoration of the main dish is too simple and repetitive (as shown in the photos attached below). Everything else is good. At the same time, I think the some customers’ noise should be controlled (keeping screaming during the meal) which could disturb other people. Please review these. I hope these can be improved when I come here next time. Thanks.

You won’t find cliche and overdone dishes like charred sprouts, cauliflowers, or tartares here and you won’t need to either! Lots of unique flavors being dished out that have been well thought out and cooked with TLC! But they don’t stop there! The service is immaculate, space is airy and aesthetic, and the price is incredibly affordable considering the quality of the ingredients and the labour of love that went into it. I wish I had dined here sooner because it just shot up to my top 3 in YYC! Back to the food, I’m predominantly pescatarian and their grilled humboldt squid and also their diver scallops are the best of each protein I’ve ever tasted! Everything else was point on, nothing but raves from me! Don’t hesitate, go eeeeeeat!!!

The other staff were great as well. The food was delicious. Must get the duck or pork people! Everything was perfect and we will be back again. Thank you for making our little night out special.

When you go here, it's nice to sit at the bar where you can see the kitchen cook your food in front of you and you can talk to the chefs and ask the anything. Super friendly staff. Would definitely come back. ?

Our server/the bar manager Justin was fantastic, the food was on point and the portions were so perfect, each dish's flavour profile was well balanced and flavourful in a different way which lead to a lovely culinary experience. Kudos to everyone at Klein/Harris for this lovely spot, for sure a must-stop for anyone who loves share plates and well executed flavour and presentation!

We were seated near the open front door where the smell of people smoking outside wafted in a bit too often for our taste. We got the Crusted Boursin Cheese, Lettuce Wraps, Candied Pork Belly, Crispy Pork, Alberta Lamb Shoulder, Triple Chocolate Cake, and Cheesecake Mousse. We very much enjoyed almost all of the dishes, although the lamb seemed a bit overcooked. We would certainly like to come back to try the other dishes.

My favourite item was the mushroom ravioli. They closed at 11 but let us stay longer to finish up our meal and desserts.

Hidden on the corner of Stephen Ave. From the moment you walk through the door, there’s a beautiful vibe and ambiance, perfect for “Table for 2”. So if you’re trying to land a second date, check this spot out for your first date ? The hostess is always pleasant with a warm welcoming smile, that lets you know you’re about to be pampered. The food was delicious, started the night with some delicious cocktails. Jumped in on some 3 way toast, took a nice cruise on the main dish, some crispy pork loin served with potatoes and veggies while singing “isn’t she lovely” in my head, and ended the night with some nice dessert. Now, you have to forgive me for not remembering the names of the dishes, but just check this spot and I bet you won’t regret it. The last star is for the portion, I honestly wanted some extra potatoes and veggies to clean off the sauce on my plate. But overall, an amazing experience.
