About Kinniburgh Spray Service Ltd.

It all started back in World War II with Jack Kinniburgh flying a Halifax Bomber in Europe. After the war, they purchased a Tiger Moth aircraft with the Neighbor down the road and used it to hunt coyotes. Jack would fly and his brother Scott would hunt from the back seat, land, and skin the coyote to get paid by the government.

After that, the three brothers Jack, Scott and Ring Kinniburgh saw that they were using airplanes to spray and thought it was a good idea because the ground spraying in the open cab tractors was not fun. Turned out they enjoyed using the aircraft so much more they started Kinniburgh Spray Service in 1952.

They started out with one T8F Luscombe and quickly bought the second. Shortly after they expanded to three aircraft because of the demand for the service. With an increase in demand for aerial application, they bought their first real spray planes. Three 150hp Piper Pawnees. Since then they have owned a variety of aircraft. From the Luscombes, Pawnees, Callair’s, Ag-Cat, to the present Air Tractor.

It has always been a family business. We are now in our third generation. The Kinniburgh family presently has members flying Air Tractors all the way up to Boeing 737′s. I guess it is in our blood.
