P	Patience Tanjong on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff at this saloon were very warm and welcoming . Patrice took time to tell me the different options of what could be done with my hair and patiently listened while I told her my hair struggles and gave her proffesional advice. She did not get upset when i changed my mind several times at what i wanted to do. I also felt proffesionalism at the way she attended to my hair and the results was better than I expected .That was my fisrt time at this saloon and I will definitely go again if i can make time.Thank you Kinks hair Studio and Patrice in particular.
l	loraie lewis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered a few products from the salon and the day I receive the products, the owner texted me asking me about the products which I have not tried it as yet which I found it very strange. I asked a few questions and I did not get a response. It speaks volume about this business and I did get a hair wash done, however be careful because they over charge you. Very disappointed that my questions did not get answered.

The workers are not educated on my hair condition Seborrheic dermatitis and provided a "scalp treatment" that caused a flare of the next day it was worse than it was when i came in. I rather you be honest and tell me you know nothing about it. Poor customer service and they are all about the money ended up paying over $200 for a wash scalp treatment perm and press. SAVE YOUR MONEY. If i could give 0 stars i would.

I went to this salon because of its name “kinks” thinking they’d specialize in natural hair… unfortunately because of the state of my natural hair, I was subject to an additional $100 charge for length and density. My hair is shoulder length ( when stretched). I was charged 220 for the colour, 100 for length and density, and an additional fee to “cleanse” my hair. I went previously to have the vegan treatment & was surprised by this length and density fee especially since I was under the impression they specialize in treating natural hair. I was silly to think this would be a one time charge, and returned to get my hair coloured; I asked for the reason, they explained it was because my hair needed more product. I understand businesses are trying to recoup cost due to the pandemic, but these prices are a bit excessive. Needless to say, if you have 3A-4C texture be prepared for this additional cost.
D	Deede C on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Can you believe they cancelled my appointment after being early 18 minutes and waiting for an additional 23 minutes after my appointment time at 12pm. Called at 9:54am to confirm my appointment for extension twists at 9:55am, again at 10:19am and lastly 11:16am. All 3 phone conversations were mere hours away from my appointment, which no one once mentioned I was unable to be given a service.... when they mentioned it, it was infront of a crowd of 6 people! no one offered a different service only to come the next day, which i was unable to. I took a vacation day from work to get my hair done by Kinks...I spent 54$ on hair 65$ for deposit fees- no one mentioned that I would not be charge my deposit. My first time with this place and cannot believe the way I was treated not only as a first time customer, but as someone who was on time, made all the right updates with salon only for them to tell me another person walked in earlier than me... so pretty much if you don't have a 9am appointment you can have your appointment canceled. Camille was supposed to be my stylist- she took the client who "booked, but also walked in earlier than me". Camille not once made eye contact with me or to apologize, instead, she had Patrich do the dirty work. Clearly Camille knew this client bcz she was smirking the whole time hearing this..friends will get placed before paying customers here. I can't believe it. I have no words the disgust I feel. Out $65- all because I made an appointment and didn't walk-in.
R	Rene M. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my second visit to this salon in a few years and due to the first experience I had, I thought it would have been a good idea to go back but I was completely wrong. I booked a layered cut and perm ($180+), even provided a picture and the lead stylist (Patrich) assured me more than once she could give me the style. Instead, I left the salon with a haircut from the 1990s and to make matters worst, I have to go somewhere else to have my cut fixed. I am so disappointed in the service and the lack of professionalism that I will never go back! The service is too expensive for a job not done properly!

My hair had been showing some part of being curly for the past few years but I never had a haircut specifically to bring out my beautiful curls. I had a lovely experience chatting with the team, getting pampered and feeling so good about my new hair cut/ style! Marva understands curly hair of all types and brings out the best in your hair and you! I would highly recommend Kinks Hair Studio to anyone looking for a catered hair experience! Marva knew exactly what my hair needed and I am so impressed with the results of my natural curls. Thank you Marva! Cheers to a new hair journey!
T	Toni Keyana on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to Kinks for a deep treatment, a trim, and a silk press. When I booked online it said the total was around $170 and I paid a deposit of $85. When I got to the hair salon, I will say the staff is really nice and well knowledgeable about black hair, BUT its way to expensive! My stylist said I'd have to upgrade my deep treatment to a "cocktail" which went from $25 to $45. She also charged me and my sister a density fee because our hair was thick. Mine was an extra $25 and my sisters was an astonishing $100 extra! By the time I left (and I did buy two of their hair products) my bill was an extra $382 on top of my $85 deposit. I have never spent this much at a salon and what's really upsetting is that my hair is now damaged. I purposely went to a salon for a silk press to avoid damage and now I feel like I'm back to where I started just $400 in the negative. It was a very upsetting experience especially cause I wanted to "treat" myself cause I haven't been to a salon in about 10 years. And now my hair is all damaged and I have no money left over to get it fixed. For the price and quality, I would not recommend going here. There are other salons in the GTA that are more than capable and will likely cost you much less. Sad to say but I don't think I'll be going again. This is why I avoided salons for so long and now I think I'll be avoiding them again. Complete waste of money
