As an exchange student, choosing the coop for housing is the best decision I could possibly take! You’ll get to know people from all over the world and integrate a community of friendly and open-minded people that will just feel like a big family. If you like living in community, you’ll love working, living, eating and sharing social events at the coop. Also, food is super yummy and accommodates everyone’s needs (vegan, vegetarian, allergies, etc.)! I made my closest friends here - and my experience abroad was definitely shaped by this organization!

As an exchange student at Queen’s University, choosing the KSHC as my accommodation was one of the best decisions I could have made. Compared to university residence or private renting, the Co-op is very budget friendly and I couldn’t recommend it more. The staff are super friendly, the rooms are comfortable and the location is perfect. The large houses and the meal plan create a tight-knit community that gives the opportunity to meet an incredible bunch of like-minded people from all across the world. The best moments of my exchange have been down to the friendships I’ve made through the KSHC.

Being an exchange student and finding a residence or accommodation at your new university can be extremely hard. Thankfully, through a previous student at Queen's University, I was told about the Kingston Housing Cooperative. Ultimately applying to the COOP was the best decision I made. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s trying to find accommodation in Kingston. Through the COOP I have had the opportunity to meet so many great people and the sociable environment of the organisation has been a catalyst for making new friends; a very daunting experience for any exchange student. The accommodation is great as the rooms are spacious and well equipped. The opportunity to choose between the meal plan option or self-catered is also invaluable and the ideal location is perfect. All and all I cannot recommend the Kingston Housing Cooperative enough for any future incoming students at the University.

I’ve had the opportunity to live in co-op over the past 3 years and I cannot recommend it enough! Co-op is a very affordable option with 4 & 8 month leases, which relieves the pain of paying rent for a place you’ll likely not be living in during the summer months or if you’re going on exchange. The rooms are also fully furnished! The community is incredibly welcoming and is always willing to help with whatever you may need. A great alternative to private housing in Kingston.

I am an exchange student from the University of Cape Town. One of the best decisions I made in Canada was to stay in the co-op. All the houses and dining hall is conveniently located to the University and downtown Kingston area. The most important aspect of the co-op though is the people. The staff will go out of there way to help you throughout your stay. The most important aspect the co-op provides is the community. You have the opportunity to make lifelong friends and will always find a group of friends within days of arriving amongst one of the many houses the co-op has.

I’m an exchange student at Queen’s living in Coop this year. I highly recommend coop to anyone who’s trying to find accommodation in Kingston. I have met so many great people and I love the sociable atmosphere. The houses are great - rooms are spacious and beds are comfy and the meal plan is fantastic. We even get food packages for the weekend. Choosing coop was by far the best decision I made coming to study abroad.

I've been expecting this year outside of France since a long time, and I can definitely say today that my experience in Kingston and in Canada wouldn't have been the same without the coop. The pricing for the housing and the meal plan are great and they permit to meet many people. Such a big campus as Queen's could be disorienting if you live alone, that's why I appreciated so much the experience here. Also, as a meal plan member, even the 3 hours of work per week are a nice time : you also meet other people and there is always a great atmosphere.

I am an exchange student at Queen's university from the University of Edinburgh and staying at Co-op Housing throughout my year abroad was a great decision! The houses are extremely central, only minutes away from campus and central Kingston. Both meal and non-meal plan houses are large and well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable year. The staff that work at Co-op are so friendly and approachable, which contributes to making your stay at Co-op more enjoyable. Through Co-op housing I have made most of my closest friends here. It has been a great and sociable experience, and I couldn't recommend the housing enough!
