J	Joe B on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have visited a few times to see available animals for adoption, and the staff was always friendly. We ultimately adopted our rabbit here, the staff was helpful, and we received a few coupons to use toward care essentials.
V	Vicki Clarke on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very patient, helpful, and positive staff. Thank you very much for taking care of all the lives that otherwise would not have a place to go, or worse. Also, was informed about the many cats that need homes, in the Kingston area. For $50, a cat from KHS can be micro chipped, spayed/neutered with first shots, and be adopted to go home with you for comapnionship. Thereby, giving them a safe, and loving home, care provision, and providing another space for another cat that needs care within their space. They are overloaded, especially due to Covid 19, but somehow make it all work! Amazing, and I Thank You Very Much!!!

Whether it be monetarily, an offer to volunteer or, as was the case with my last visit, I dropped off 50 or so table linens to be used for bed and kennel liners.(They were destined for the dump). As well as some pet “Swag” bags for the four-legged, red-carpet Fur celebrities! I also have a good friend working there. Everybody that works there is there because they want the best for the animals. They are compassionate and concerned about every animal in their care. That includes while they are under their watch and after they’ve gone to their forever-home. Even without the hardship of The Pandemic, they are inundated with animals. They always have to be diligent about where an animal is being adopted to. Even when they have no room. It would be the easy route to just get them out the door as fast as they can, but due diligence rules the day always. Personally, I find it incomprehensible that anybody could show the staff there anything but the very same compassion for the animals they take care of. They have to deal with the heartache of seeing these beautiful creatures everyday. Just walk a week in their shoes, then leave your reviews. If you can see through the tears, to tap on your keyboard. They were so caring and called to follow up a couple weeks later to see how she was adapting. This was our first cat, and they were patient with all the questions we had. 10/10 would recommend!!

I feel that is not a decision that should be the deciding factor for adoption. I would give a dog the most loving home and if the welfare of an animal was their most important thing then the are sorely missing out on a good home for one of their dogs.

When I called with my concern they were always willing to listen and give suggestions as to help Avion feel more at home. The adoption process was fast and friendly. Excellent customer service. BTW. Avion is doing great and is now queen of all she can see!

In 2020 I adopted one of my foster cats and she is the most easy going sweet girl. We just love her. The humane society has been supportive throughout my entire time as a foster as well as adoption.
