★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have been trying to get a hamper for over a month now, just moved to town and had to go hungry over Christmas because everytime I go in they make me wait 45 mins while they talk in the office with the door closed and completely forget your even there. They are very unorganized and feels like they wouldn't care if you starve... Im also 8mo pregnant and have told them that even after that they still just don't care...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the most peculiarly run Food Bank in Western Canada. Food Bank recipients can only get a food hamper once every 2 months - & when they give it out, it's sooo huge, that if thaat family hasn't got the cupboard or fridge space to store it all, it's going to either go bad - or have to be given out to their friends/acquaintances because of lack of storage space. They don't help recipients that have pets, @ all, so I guess they just starve. Very small Emergency Hampers can be obtained 2 times in the 2 month waiting period - but it's not enough to really help. This Food Bank was not thought out @ all, & I have to wonder if anyone there, has ever been homeless, or living in confined quarters that won't hold a huge quantity of food once every 2 months. Completely dumb, & unthought about set up - probably by people who have never had to 'live the life'.
