I don't like miso but this was the best miso I've ever tried! Sushi - really good. I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba and I'm definitely coming back one day!

100 points for this small family run Japanese restaurant in Hope. It's literally this family's house renovated into a restaurant. The living room is where we sit ? The food here is really legit Japanese food made by real live Korean people. Don't be fooled, Koreans run a lot of Japanese restaurant in Greater Vancouver. Anyway, every item tastes and looks incredible. 10/10 would try again ? I thank this family for existing.

They only do takeout which is fine but you can eat outside their patio if it's not occupied. The patio is nice and you get a good breeze while waiting or enjoying your meal. The staff was very friendly and provided good customer service. The food taste great but the serving size was very tiny. For example, the chicken slices were maybe less than half an inch (see picture). In summary, we had high hopes with this place because of the high Google reviews but my family was quite disappointed by the small food servings.

Well our experience here, was not enjoyable like almost everyone says theirs was. First the price for the small portions was disappointing. If the food had been good, it would not have been a problem, but it wasnt. Had the Gyoza, it was ok, typical fried gyoza but the ponzu sauce was terrible, it tasted like vinegar. Tempura was ok, regular tempura (bit pricey). The miso soup again normal miso, but the portion size was incredibly small, unbelievably small. Now the California rolls (my husbands fav at any sushi restaurant) were not good, they tasted like they had sugar or some kind of sweetener added to it. My hubby would not eat them, thats a first. The Chicken Teriyaki was the saddest part of the meal. I love Chicken teriyaki. The price $16.95. It came with a tiny miso soup a small amount of rice, a small plop of salad and the smallest portion of chicken teriyaki. If the chicken was sliced any thinner, I would have said it was lunch meat, maybe it was, it was so salty that is was pretty much inedible. The cabbage was also very salty. I say cabbage cause I dont think there was any other veggie in this teriyaki, maybe some onion. The sauce was also salty and very limited, only a bit on the chicken. . The entire meal experience was very disappointing for an establishment that people rate so high. Am I missing something?? I do not recommend this restaurant and I am totally for shopping/eating local, but come on, for the price you should get something decent that you will at least finish, not something that makes you never want to eat Sushi again. At least not in Hope!!

Amazing sushi! They have been running since I was a kid and never been disappointed in their food. The view while sitting outside is really pretty as well. I suggest trying their Dragon Roll, it's not like the other places and they use a really yummy sauce.

Because of COVID, they only provide ordering and pick-up. The food is just average;I’m surprised that gyozas are fried, and the fry coat of chicken is so soft, not crispy. And Inside the Kibo house roll are tempura shrimps; the topping sauce are spicy Mayo and soybean sauce. I guess all we ordered are frying food, so the taste is end up not that good. Maybe try different dishes next time.

Pretty decent little spot. They have my favorite Japanese beer Asahi, so that's good. The girl working was friendly. Only outside seating right now which is totally fair. Wasn't a huge fan of the sushi as it fell apart when I tried to eat it. The ramen was a good portion and value with a decent taste. Really did appreciate having Japanese food in Hope on the way through.

We have eaten here once. We had the spicy pork special. it was very good but a little to sweet and thats why I didn't give 5 stars. The service was quite good and the place has a very nice feel to it. We ate a a picnic table ina little garden that was very peaceful and beautiful, there is only one table in the garden. They have a patio. Washroom is nice and clean. Parking for about 5-6 cars. We will go back whenever we are i. Hope. We do recommend it.
