These are the best custard fish I have ever had! Perfectly crispy on the outside, but warm and gooey inside. The owner is so pleasant and kind as well! They don’t take debit or credit, so make sure you ask for cash back at the till or bring some specifically for the fish!

I feel the price is a bit high (even for a pack of 6 "deal"), but it tastes/feels SO good. I don't even mind the filling spewing out after cooking. Flavour is more important than a polished product, and it is always warm even from the warming tray. First two bites made me melt with happiness. I'm confused by the mini sign about frozen taiyaki (with red bean, custard, and matcha options) and there are no matcha options. I would LOVE taro (sweet purple yam) filling, as well as a matcha one in the future. The custard filling needs some sugar and lemon, but it's yummy. It is even fun to watch the cook make them. They should promote this more. I stumbled upon this shack by coincidence.

Honestly, this is the most mediocre "gold fish pastry" I've had. The filling of red bean was watered down and the dough covering lacked chewy inside as well as crispness of outside. From Korea to LA and everywhere in between, this old school pastry treat's best simple formula is intensely sweet dense red bean (or custard, Nutella etc) filling wrapped up with quality pastry flour/sweet rice exterior. Kevin's has neither.

Good. Crispy on the outside, a little doughy on inside and could have used more filling. Baking is uneven with more of a fried consistency and and fried flavour vs. traditional Japanese taiyaki. Still, it's good and I would give it another try, especially to try the custard and green tea flavours, and taiyaki ice cream. Price is med-high. Located in the PAT grocery store food court. TIP: They also had frozen ones to take home for a lot less if you weren't going to eat them right away.

? The vendor wasn’t around for 5 mins. when I went there. I wanted to buy the custard cake. There wasn’t a sign that he’d be gone for his lunch, or there wasn’t a sign that he is close. ? His custard cake is good but i’m not really satisfied with the filling as it is not enough.

Delicious taiyaki! The dough was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and the custard was a good texture and not too sweet. Got there around 4pm on a weekday and the matcha and red bean taiyaki were gone, so tried the custard. Decently priced

It's nice to have a Taiyaki place in Mississauga, as this city is clearly lacking in those! I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of Kevin's Taiyaki, considering it's located inside PAT grocery store. Although I did not come in time for a new batch of pastries, the box of Taiyaki I received was kept warm, and tasted fresh. I'm not a fan of red bean, so I only got the custard variety. The pastry texture was excellent, with just the right amount of sweetness. The custard filling was also excellent, and I felt like they used just the right amount. I'll definitely be back here in the near future, and so should you!

Lovely street-food shop inside PAT supermarket. My daughter saves up change, just to get her hot fresh Taiyaki. The dough is crispy and soft at the same time, the custard is perfect. The vendor is a very sweet man. Gave my kid a "fish" even she was short on her change.
