Kanata Renovations

Had Kanata Renovations renovate our kitchen. Ceramic work is sub-standard. I figure that the subfloor wasn't properly prepared. Flexing has caused cracked tiles and a good part of the grout to simply crumble. I'm not pleased that Brian promised to come back to address this and then failed to show up. Still waiting after several months. Not a good business practice.

We have been dealing with Kanata Renovations for over 10 years and they have completed numerous projects over that timeframe including a major (+$100k) renovation last year. Brian and his team are professional and reliable, thorough and we have been completely satisfied. They are easy to deal with, stay on time and budget and do impeccable work. The Kanata Renovations team did an excellent On-suite Bathroom renovation from start to finish. The advise we received was truly beneficial to the project , from colours of paint to choosing mirrors and vanity and many more items. Kanata Renovations renovated the entire main floor of an older bungalow that I purchased in 2017. The work included a new kitchen, bathroom, flooring throughout and the removal of an existing wall. All of the work was competed in a timely manner and any issues that arised were quickly dealt with. I’ve received many compliments on the excellent work. Brian, Christina, and John were a pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend them.

Kanata Renovations did several renovations for us over the last few years including a new kitchen, fireplace, family room, ensuite bath including a walk in shower and new flooring on the second level. We were thrilled with their work. The company offers the full range of renovation services. All their work was fairly priced, done on time and in a highly professional manner. They told us what they were going to do, when it would be done and then delivered what they promised. Owner Brian McMahon was looking in on the work regularly and was a phone call away. We needed a full renovation to our 30 year old master ensuite and after much research and numerous estimates we knew Kanata Renovations was the way to go. Brian and his design team came up with an excellent plan for a stunning spa like bathroom. His manager and entire team of plumbers, electricians, drywallers, painters, tilers and “glass man” were efficient, polite and cleaned up daily. We couldn’t have made a better choice than Kanata Renovations as we have ended up with a picture perfect, magazine worthy bathroom that every single person we have shown it to has said WOW! We highly recommend Kanata Renovations based on our recent Ensuite Bathroom Renovation, bedroom painting and replacement of interior doors. From start to finish, our experience has been outstanding. Shawn and Christina did an excellent job on the planning and the estimate which laid everything out clearly and was detailed by week. Christina, the designer was wonderful to work with and she made selecting the colours, the plumbing, the cabinets and the fixtures fun and exciting. Christina listened to what we envisioned and she pre-selected perfect options for us based on our discussions. John and Joe managed all of the trades and completed much of the work. All of the team members/trades (demo and installers, plumbers, electrician, tiler, drywall installer, painter etc.), were professional, friendly, knowledgeable and highly skilled. We really appreciated that they were able to add in some additional small jobs for us as well. John and Joe were excellent! Communication from each person and across the team was exceptional. We always knew the schedule and each person contacted us to confirm arrival time and what work was to be completed. This is a rare quality on any project and far exceeded our communication expectations. The only delay that we experienced was with the delivery of the vanity and linen tower that we selected. But that was because we had a very specific vision for the space and it required semi-custom cabinetry which meant 4-6 weeks from ordering. We were fortunate to select it from a Canadian company and it was delivered as expected. And it is beautiful. Big kudos to Shawn, Christina, John & Joe for their exceptional management and contributions to successfully completing the project on budget, on scope and on-time (given the challenges during a Pandemic and delays with the custom cabinets)! We absolutely love our new bathroom; we’re pleased with the new doors and with the bedroom paint job. As we are thrilled, we would not hesitate to recommend Kanata Renovations for any project and we hope that we will have additional projects for them in the future. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we are extremely pleased with the end result.
