Jaz Mechanical - Oakbank

DON'T TRUST THIS MECHANIC!!!!! I recently purchased a RAV4 which Joe the Owner had completed a Safety on and passed it. He did the safety less than 30 days before I purchased the vehicle. I had my own mechanic do a complete inspection of the vehicle as soon as I bought it, as I said less than 30 days later. Only to find some serious repairs that Jaz Mechanical completley missed. My mechanic, who has been a Toyota mechanic for over 15 years found a completely rusted out right front bearing as well as both rear trailing arms and bushings that should never have passed. I was there during my mechanic's inspection and saw the damage myself. Cost me almost $1,000 to complete the repairs. Took the vehicle to Vehicle Standards right after for another inspection and some advice on how to proceed with Jaz Mechanical who took no accountability. Hoping they would support my claim against Jaz Mechanical. They found other faults with the vehicle that Jaz missed; the front and rear disc brakes and the sun visor bracket. I had my mechanic complete all of the repairs because I certainly didn't feel confident letting an obviously incompetent Jaz Mechanics do the repairs if he missed all of them in the first place! I called Joe the owner of Jaz who did the "safety", hoping he would step up and do the right thing and at least reimburse me the cost of the repairs. He was a bully, told me "buyer beware", said that it "could have happened since he did the inspection". Really? To be that rusted less than 30 days later. Excuses! He had a list of excuses and no accountability. Vehicle Standards advised me to take him to Small Claims court. However, it seems Vehicle Standards told Jaz later that "I had no case". Clearly they support the mechanics and not the buyer. Typical. Jaz Mechanical no integrity in the work he does. No accountability. Just a bully. And clearly an incompetent mechanic. Don't trust this place! Clearly incompetent and when you challenge Joe on the work he did, asking for compensation, instead he just becomes defensive, accusatory and a bully. That in itself speaks VOLUMES to the integrity of Joe and his business.
