Jamie is very professional. We chose him from his look book on his website and we're so thankful he was available to photograph our wedding in the Dominican Republic April 2015. Not only was he knowledgeable about all the great places to take pictures he made everything seamless. I never had to worry all day about anything as he knew how to run the show. You can tell that he loves his job, he treats it like a true art form. He has many tricks up his sleeve, but he's always willing to try something new, different, or out of the box. I never felt like I was just another bride, but that my day was special . It was also notable that he took my photography preferences (I'm not a huge fan of "serious" photos, and we also love more candid photos) and was able to capture that. My photos turned out better than I could have imagined and it will be really hard to decide which ones to print to put up in photo frames...

Where do I even being with Jamie? Well I will start from the beginning. My wedding was on May 1, 2015 at the Majestic Elegance Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. When first deciding to do a Destination Wedding, it was a bit scary, relying solely on online reviews and recommendations to book vendors. Jamie came highly recommended from a Facebook Group of Brides specific to Majestic Elegance. I emailed Jamie and he responded first. (within 24 hours). He immediately set up a time to chat over the phone. During our very first conversation he talked about the resort, his experience with it and past weddings. He left my husband and I feeling very comfortable and the next day I mailed out our deposit. After speaking with him I didn’t have to make much of a choice. We clicked and it was great. He also recommended a videographer and even said the DJ we chose was good. We created a DREAM TEAM as he called it! We had a final conversation over the phone about a week before the wedding where Jamie asked more questions about the bridal party and layout of the day. We scheduled our on-site meeting for the Thursday night before our wedding. When we met with Jamie on the resort, we had a great conversation. He laid out the day (schedule-wise) for us and said he had talked to the videographer as well. He had everything mapped out which was great. The thing I liked about Jamie is that although he was very professional, he also talked about himself and let us know his background and where he came from etc. It helped us connect and actually make the wedding day a bit more comfortable. It didn’t feel like a stranger was with us, we felt like we had known him forever. The wedding day…. As smooth sailing as it was for me (the bride) it wasn’t so smooth for my groom. When Jamie had got to his room to shoot him getting ready, my groom had just realized that the store left the sensor on his suit. Jamie came to the rescue and managed to call the resort maintenance guys to come help get the sensor of the suit. Once that happened the blue dye went everywhere and Jamie rushed to clean the suit. It took 4 guys, 2 maintenance guys and one amazing photographer to get that crisis under control. When Jamie showed up to my room to shoot he didn’t say a peep. In fact I had no idea any of that even took place. He kept the day moving. My husband and I did a first look, Jamie rocked it… he knew all of the spots we should go and all of the positions we should be in. I am not a fan of posing or too much camera time but Jamie caught the most perfect shots without us even trying. His eye and attention to detail is amazing. Our wedding guests loved him and welcomed him with open arms. He was pretty awesome and got a long with everyone. After the wedding he asked us to meet him at 5am for a sunrise trash the dress session. Sounds like torture but it was the best thing we did. Jamie took us off the resort to a beach to catch the sunrise and some caves, yes that’s right caves. Like I said we never felt like we were posing or modeling, He caught perfect moments and photos without us even trying. There was so many ways that Jamie amazed me during my wedding week. There was one point in the caves where my husband doesn’t swim. I knew that Jamie wanted us in the water but he immediately improvised and worked around my husbands fear of the water. He literally climed down the rocks one hand on his camera and one hand on a rope, the only thing supporting him were his feet. I thought he was insane but he knew what he was doing and he was calm the entire time, comforting the both of us the entire time. It was one of the best experiences ever. It was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We didn’t just hire a photographer; we hired a passionate and dedicated expert/artist. We hope to see Jamie soon! I met Jamie on a bride forum from the majestic colonial brides in the dominican republic. I was hesitant on hiring a local photographer due to communication problems which could of lead to an unhappy bride, it was the biggest day of my life and i wasn't willing to take a chance of being unhappy with my photos. So when i seen Jamie on the bride page and he was from Canada i hired him right away, from the minute i had been in contact with Jamie he was professional and friendly. He instantly put my mind at ease that i was in good hands. I looked at Jamie's pictures on his website, they were so unique and not your typical serious photos and i thought the editing on them was so amazing. Well let me tell you most of those cool effects was the lighting and different lenses to create those pictures and its not actually editing. Although i know there will always be some sort of editing when Jamie would show me a picture straight off the camera it looked as if it had been edited, i never knew it was possible to get photos like that without photoshop and editing them to no end. They were so picture perfect. I still to this day don't know how Jamie does it. We had guests at our wedding commenting on how Jamie was a level of photography that they have never seen before. Jamie was very reasonably priced, especially for the amount of photos we received which also included trash the dress. We had over 3000 photos to choose from. Jamie knows the resort inside and out as he does numerous weddings there. Jamie hands down is the best photographer and if you don't choose him you are making a big mistake, you won't be disappointed! I hope that one day Jamie will be able to do another photo shoot for us! I have so many good things to say about Jamie and his work I hardly know where to begin! The moment I saw his stunning photos at a bridal show I was certain he was our guy. My husband and I had a winter wedding one week before Christmas and Jamie made every picture come to life. He was the type of photographer who would go out of his way to get the perfect shot (even if that meant, laying down on an ice rink in -35 degree blizzarding weather)! We were absolutely blown away by the final product we received from him! There wasn't one shot in the day that was missed! We even felt as if he captured every single moment better than our videographers. Jamie was extremely professional to work with from start to finish and his easy going and creative flaire/ obvious talent spoke for itself. He was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the whole process. I even remember Jamie saving the day by showing my maid of honour how to secure and bobbypin my veil as the hairdresser had forgot to add it before she left!! I would HIGHLY recommend Jamie Dimitry's photography to any one looking for a photographer who will produce the most incredible photos and create the most enchanting experience on your big day. These photos are memories my husband and I will cherish and be forever grateful to Jamie for eternally!
